Hiking Pennsylvania: A Guide to the State's Greatest Hikes (State Hiking Guides Series) Paperback – July 1, 2015

My 6 yo loves hiking. I got this for him, so we could start exploring places outside of our immediate area. I love how the book is organized by region in PA. I love how each hike is described. My 6 yo spent an hour reviewing information about various hikes (with help) before deciding one what our first 2 trips would be. Looking forward to it!

This is the best hiking guide, hands down, and it is because of substance and organization. The book is broken down by geographic regions (PA is BIG), and those sections do contain the relevant places to visit. Each trail gets 2-4 pages, the content is organized by an aerial map with the trail outlined and roads named, a fact box including length of trail, elevation gain, terrain features, etc. This is followed by 1-2 pages describing the blazes, ecology, terrain, access / parking, etc. This book deserves ALL of the starts.

This is a great guide to hiking PA. I like the detailed descriptions of the hikes, the numbered map of hikes within the state, and the difficulty ratings. Overall, great book.

Kind of an Introduction when you're just dipping your toes into hiking. I wouldn't consider this an authoritative resource as there are so many trails that are not included.

I bought this for my best friend as a gift, and while it sat around the house for a few days before his birthday, many friends commented on how great of a guide it was. It has beautiful pictures and a wealth of information that's great for a summer in PA.

We love this book. Every hike we have gone on in the book has been amazing. Definitely a great book for hikers that want to see the best trails in PA.

Great book! Wish I could get an Eastern PA book from these guys.

Good reference. Not the best i’ve seen, but a good addition to your library if your a Pennsylvania hiker!
