These keep my 125 Gallon tank clean!
I have a multi stage canister filter for my 125 gallon tank. These things work wonders in keeping my tank clean. A quick rinse every so often when I pull the filter off and they are good to go. They work so well, I started using them in my small outdoor pond (40 Gallon or so) and they helped keep my pond clear all summer in a homemade bucket filter.

Huge improvement
I’m no expert at this and it’s always a learning process but these balls have changed the game for me. The water stays clearer and the smell is like pretty much gone. It’s been a struggle trying to find the right equipment to tend to these messy turtles but I can say these balls help a lot right now and until I can afford a canister water filter this is a great purchase.

Perfect bio filtration
I received these bio balls in the mail yesterday, and they are small but perfect for bio filtration. I purchased these for a large hob filter to have extra space for useful bacteria to have more area. They are good quality for the price . Easy to use. I rinsed with hot water and put them in. I will update at the performance asap. Time will tell as to how long they last.

Not the best but good for the price
This is my first time buying marina bioballs, so this is a general review of this model bioball.Size: Average black sperical black bioballs are about 26mm these are 19.5mm, 225 standard bioballs equals 1 gallon you'd need 300 of these to fill 1 gallon. Generic mini bioballs from china (the ones that go for 20/$1) are 15mm so these marina bioballs are somewhere between standard and mini bioballs in size.Design: From what Ive seen, bio balls either have fins going in multiple directions, or made of bunch of small thin tubes, or are full spheres and are hallow and have a small sponge inside. These are full spheres but the fins are all the same direction and all go in one direction, Id assumed they have a sponge base on the photo, but the do not so in general they have less filtration capacity than the other 3 styles but are easier to clean.Even though size and design are not optimal these are still a good buy since the price is so low as long as you have the space the filtration capacity per $1 is still above average. The mini generic mini bioballs with the sponge in the middle are better, BUT will get clogged faster, need to be cleaned every 6-12mo, these can probably go 2 years without cleaning.p.s. the box says 90-Count, I got 91. So thats a plus =)

Good product
I like using extra media in my filters. You can tell a big difference. There were more than I needed to fit the SunSun external filter I also purchased. Great price. Better than local prices.

Great media for Barrel Filter
My application was for a barrel pond filtering system. I combined several medias including these balls and charcoal filtering pads ( also found here on Amazon). I used a pond pump mesh bag to make the removal of these balls easier. I staged several bags, allowing me time to clean the first set--if I can fast swap a second set of balls.
