Of course the 4K Blueray is outstanding. (Be sure you use at the minimum a 4k HDMI cable. I use a 8K HDMI works perfect. supports 3-D movies. Vert easy to setup. Be sure to look at the "settings" [ Far upper right of the first menu when first turned on] before using to be sure everything (Video & Audio) matches your TV, Sound system, etc.

A solid but imperfect 4K player.
Whenever there's new home video technology, I'm all over it. With 4K discs hitting the scene in recent years, I decided to go all-in and jump on the bandwagon, getting to enjoy al my favorite films in the best way possible.Sony has long been one of the leading names in entertainment, so I figured getting a player from them would probably be a promising place to start my 4K journey. I'm happy to say that, for the most part, this is an excellent player that plays movies back on my 4K TV in the finest possible image quality. It's a decently-priced player that gives a lot of bang for your buck.As far as the actual playback quality goes, the image quality is beautiful. I've never experienced this quality of image on my films before, and the HDR/Dolby Vision gives the deepest darkest black levels and shadow detail, in addition to more vibrant colors. On my Vizio M-Series Quantum, this player has functioned excellently. Granted, I haven't watched 4K movies on a lot of other players, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I won't deny this looks very nice. The remote included with the player is pretty basic, but simple and easy to use. No real complaints on that front, either. That said, I did have a few issues with the player worth addressing.Firstly, you have to manually select Dolby Vision from the menu; it doesn't automatically set it up if you insert a Dolby Vision compatible disc. This seems like the sort of thing that could easily have been solved with a firmware update.Secondly, I've had issues where the player doesn't want to boot up, and I've had to unplug it and replug it to get it to work. There were also some weird issues in which the audio on the player wouldn't work unless I changed the input on the TV and changed it back, though audio would work fine after that. The third and final complaint is how frustratingly few apps/streaming services are supported through the player. However, most of these are supported through my smart TV, so it's not a huge deal, but might be worth mentioning for those that don't have that luxury.A great player overall despite the minor flaws. I hope to upgrade to something better one day, but as an "entry level" 4K player that also supports Dolby Vision, this one's top notch. Recommended!

Unreliable Layer Changes
I've owned this player for a few years now, and it consistently has issues with layer changes in triple-layer discs (ie any longer, epic-length movies). A couple of hours in, movies will just suddenly freeze up, and can't be fixed except by turning off the player for a few minutes and then trying again. This happens every single time.Recently, it's started having issues with perfectly clean, brand-new discs too.Apart from that, it feels cheap, the menus look like they're from the year 2000, Dolby Vision is a manual toggle for some reason, and performance is mediocre at best.
