Peace of Mind for College-Bound Loved Ones
I bought several of these Thopeb Personal Safety Alarms for my daughter and nieces as they head off to college, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. They’re compact, easy to carry, and simple to use — perfect for slipping onto a keychain or backpack. The alarm is loud and attention-grabbing, which gives me peace of mind knowing they have something reliable in case of an emergency. The built-in LED light is also a great bonus for walking at night. These make a thoughtful and practical gift for young women heading into more independent settings. Highly recommend for parents looking to add an extra layer of safety for their kids!

Great Little Device
I bought one of these items for myself and also one for my sister. This thing is small enough to attach to your purse or belt loop. It gives us both an extra feeling of safety if we are traveling or working out alone. It is LOUD which is good. I really just hope that I never have to use it.

Great design and very easy to use.
It’s incredibly easy to use, attached easily to the outside of my purse, it’s very, very loud, exactly what I was looking for.

Could be a bit louder
This item was a gift to my neighbor. It is much louder in the house than outside. Seems to be a quality product. Although 4 stars, I would still recommend it. Will definitely promote peace of mind. For the money-pretty good product.

How to change the battery
I bought this a year ago and it works great and gives me peace of mind. However, when I went to change the battery a year later, I couldn’t find instructions on how to do so. I had to look them up. So here you go:Holding the pull tab that activates the alarm, twist it and it will pop open the casing (you can also use a small flat head screw driver at the indent on the side to gently pry the casing up all around). Gently remove the back of the casing and you will find two tiny black screws on the green chip at the top left and bottom right. Remove those and you can gently lift the chip off of the casing without disconnecting it. On the other side of the chip you will find where the batteries are. It takes (2) CR2023 batteries. Make sure to put them in so the positive sides (which has the writing on the battery) are facing up. Place the chip with replaced batteries back into the housing. Replace the screws and snap the housing back together. If you google “how to replace birdie battery” there is a 0:42 video at the top of the search results that shows you how to do this as well. Hope this helps!

Extremely loud
Bought it for my wife. It's small enough to hang on her purse for accessibility but not be too much in the way. It's a lot louder than I thought it be, but that's a good thing. Thankfully she hasn't had to use it.

Loud little thing and has a pretty good flash light
The media could not be loaded. I used two hands to demonstrate the alarm but it’s intended to be used attached to the ring, so you can just pull the alarm portion, with one hand, to release it and then it goes off. I felt like I had to really pull it, to get the top part off but, if I was actually in a dangerous situation, I’d rip that sucker off & not think a thing. It also comes with an oval carabiner, that the ring portion attaches on to. The carabiner is sort of big and not something I would want jangling around, during a run. If you put the device in one of your pockets & you are taken by surprise, you may not have time to dig it out of your pocket so that’s something you may want to keep in mind. I’ll probably end up putting it on a lanaird and wearing it around my neck. I bought the light purple because it’s really visible & maybe just seeing it will deter someone. It would probably be a really good deterrent for the “not so friendly dogs” . The charge cord ,that comes with this, doesn’t actually fit it. This takes an oval C tip,,,and when you are charging it, there’s no indication that it’s charging or even when it’s fully charged,,,,,I wish there was some way of knowing. The little flashlight portion is actually handy and plenty bright, in a pinch. When the alarm is going off, the little light also flashes,,,,maybe you should aim this at a would be assailant and it may make it hard for them to see and you can take off or hit them with a shot of pepper spray. Overall,,,I think this is a good purchase
