This grinder is the answer. Slim and nice view for cutting. Metabo used to have bulky grips which makes arm fatigue after hours of use but this one has lost a bit of belly fat which is a big plus. The soft start is nice, however when left plugged in the handle gets luke warm by the sticker...dont know what thats about, it must be a component that operates the unit. The only real gripe i have is I thought it would have the tool free change setup like my other metabo, which works flawless. That may be because its so slim they wanted to get extra clearance on the bottom. Not worth bumping down a star because the uses for this grinder are unbelievable. Some people are against buying these because they are pricey, however these are lifetime investments. The fit and finish is very nice, the bearings hold out longer,the gearbox doesnt vibrate and rattle your arm off, and most of all it isnt junk thats been copied. Thank you metabo for making a product that actually works in the field!

I liked the tool profile and the build quality. It will serve the purpose for which I purchased it for. My first Metabo tool and looking forward to putting to work

In a pipe welder and was looking for a grinder to fit where regular grinders don't fit. I use grinders all day every day and this grinder works well, it's built to work and I work it! This is a excellent addition to my selection of tools.

Great product. I like the soft start and the easy adjustment on the shield. I actually use the tool with the shield in place instead of just discarding it as I have on other grinders. I also like the extra 1/2" over my previous 4 1/2" grinders. My only complaint is the price.

I initially purchased this angle grinder for the low profile, we needed to get in tight spaces most angle grinders just can’t get to. But it turns out it is a superior tool in all aspects. It is well balanced and the disc being forward allows better visibility on all surfaces. I would give it six stars if possible!

I wanted an angle grinder to grind welds in tight spaces and this tool does the job for me. It is powerful enough to grind mild steed welds and as a hobbyist welder have found it to be extremely useful

first one burned up in 30days the replacement has brush problems, also no good. They replaced the first one but no warranty on the second one that doesn’t work

This is a solid 5" German made grinder for getting into tight spots and for fillet grinding. I have two concerns that cause me to give it four stars instead of five.The slide switch sometimes does not turn the grinder on. At first I thought that the switch was faulty but now see that several safety conditions are handled by the switch. One for general overheating. That I am sure was not my problem. Another for no restart after power failure if the switch is left on. That was not my situation. Another safety feature that I did not quite understand. So, if the grinder is left alone a bit after failure to start, it then seems to start up. I wonder if this safety switch is a bit over designed.I have tried to order replacement fillet grinding wheels. It came with a Metabo Flexiamant 626462 5" wheel. I have not been able to find this wheel on the web and a call to Metabo only gave me advice to try Grainger or Fastenal. Neither site had this wheel and neither site had a 5" fillet weld abrasive wheel. I have found a 4 1/2" fillet weld wheel at Lehigh Valley Abrasives for about $5. This is a site where I buy all of my abrasives and their prices and quality are great.
