The thread is sturdy and very pretty to use for binding my junk journals. Everything is of good quality and versatile. I love the range of needles and even use them to make the holes in the middle of my clay beads. I highly recommend this kit. It's a great value for the price and had fast shipping!

I plan to use this product to add pine needles or other materials to my gourd art.PROS:The various colors of waxed thread are perfect for my art.Good variety of needle sizes.Ring thimble is fantastic for pushing the needle through.Great threading all with a sharp point.CONS:One of the rolls of waxed thread looks like half of the thread is gone. Unfortunately it's the one color I like the best.I have to remind myself that you get what you pay for. This is a beginner set and the product is not top of the line.Don't plan on receiving perfect items.

Saved my chair

I ordered this kit to help repair a couple of leather purses. It arrived quickly and exactly as shown in the description. Threads are sturdy. Needles and tools aren’t high-end, but get the job done. Feels like a bargain.

The colors of the threads are nice. They aren't super waxy, but they're not un-waxed so I'm good with those. The tools are... ok. Probably useable. They each seem to be staying together as one piece, but one has wood splinters at the top, was put together crooked, and has lacquer drips on it so the grip isn't really comfortable. They're pretty small too. The tape measure was NOT what the listing shows or states. It says it has metal at both ends, but it doesn't. It says it's fabric, but I'm pretty sure this is plastic. The end is melted around a little plastic piece, not metal. It is the 60 inch length the listing says it will be, but being plastic, it can stretch and then won't measure accurately. I'm really not impressed with that part of the kit. The needles seem fine, none missing. I do like that they are almost all labeled with what they're intended to be used for though only one of them actually mentioned leather and I'm not so sure the thread will actually fit inside the eyes of a couple of them. The thimble ring I'm much more impressed with though. It's a decent thickness of metal so it won't be super easy to bend out of shape. It also has an opening so you can adjust it to bigger fingers. It's smooth, no sharp edges, so working with it for long periods should be decent.

I did about 5 inches of baseball stitch right along the seem of the leather seat. The repair is holding up well! I’m very happy with the purchase. This was a huge money saver! The downside is that if you don’t know what you’re doing, you could easily slip and stab your hand. These tools can be somewhat dangerous. That said, I managed to get away unscathed. I’m not sure about the next guy, or the one after that...

I am very happy with this kit! The waxed linen is of significantly better quality than what was available at my local hobby store (huge chain). The colors are beautiful. The tools are small, but will work just fine for me. I also like that they added some small things like a thimble and tape measure. This is a really great and affordable kit for a beginner!
