Light, awesome hose reel. Slight criticism - crank is not ambidextrous
So far, so good. My wife LOVES how light and compact this is, but all the hose she needs to water a bunch of large flower pots and bedding plants in the front of the house. Simple to bring the whole reel inside during inclement weather. Only criticism -- almost enough to deduct 1-star, but not quite -- is that i wish the crank was ambidextrous. It just happens that the handle is on the side toward the house when you roll out and reel in the hose. So, for storage, you have to fold the handle in. It's plastic, and I'm sure only a matter of time before the little plastic "clicker" breaks from usage.

Increased pressure
This is made really well, simple to setup, and the hose and nozzle size increased our pressure!

Great Hose reel
Love this Gardena hose.. Just make sure tap is still running when you need to reel it back in to avoid kinking.. you can drain water out after reeling it back in. Love it overall

This new one is sturdier and a better design but it leaked at the hose connection
I had an earlier version of this hose reel on my service vehicle for some 20 years. It worked very well but was old and needed replacement. This new one is sturdier and a better design but it leaked at the hose connection. I took it apart and repaired the leak. So, 4 out of 5.

Great Hose!
Works great and everything is good quality. Rolling up the hose is easy and we haven’t had any issues with kinking.

Good product if you're tight on space
Just bought my second one. First one has lasted 8 years. Very durable. Excellent product for anyone who is tight on space.

Have used Gardena products for 30+ years. No more. My new Gardena hose reel is four months old. Has only been used a half dozen times. Spray nozzle keeps falling-off.Unit is top heavy and falls over easily. Crank handle won't stay attached. Hose is thin and subject to kinking. Water pressure is weak. Hose nozzle spray pattern keeps changing as you water, requiring constant adjustment (twisting of handle). The spray nozzle won't stay attached to the hose. Connections are all cheap plastic using a pressure fit with a plastic, threaded, lock ring.Save your money. Buy an old-fashioned rubber garden hose. Another low-quality product of dubious origin masquerading as "German made."
