Egyptology: Search for the Tomb of Osiris (Ologies)

Son originally found this book in the library, he loved it so much we brought one. The story, the opportunity with the book to have items to touch eg “gem” on front cover, “mummy cloth”, captured my reluctant reader aged 8 imagination. It’s one of the few books he still returns to read and has started copying some of the pictures for school show and tell ahead of studying Egyptology in history. Worth every penny.

Alike many others, I was attracted by the cover and decided to get one for myself as the used one was only £3! The condition is excellent with only a few scratches at the back cover, which are unobvious. The content is interesting with pictures, photos, maps and letters. I am always fond of egyptology and learn some new stuff here even I have already read lots of books and articles regarding the topic. The difference between facsimiles of journals and academics is that the latter either focus on a subject matter (e.g. Tutankhamun or Ramesses II, etc.) or describe the long history in general. Whereas the former followed the path of the expedition team and introduced different places they visited with more pictures and graphs. It increases your knowledge on Egypt in a broader sense (at least to an amateur). Overall I love the book so much that I decide to buy a few more in the collection.

As a person who loves mythology, this is one of the best book series ever. Previously I bought the Greek version and now I finally got my hands on the Egyptian one. I bought a used version and it came in an excellent condition. I recommend this to everyone who loves mythology it is such a pleasant book to read. Lots of interactive stuff and information.

Took my nine year old to British museum at Easter were we came apon some books which I must admit I could not affordBut once back home I was able to purchase for her at the bargin price of 1p plus £2.80 p&p on the internet sadly I guess that's why shops are having a hard time but what can you do as a buyer? It only took 5 days from ordering to arrive to my home. My kids very much into Egyptology this book is well presented and an enjoyable read for a young person interested in this part of history.
