Bora Portamate PM-3014 Extension Couplers for Extending PM-3500 Mobile Base up to 78", Black

This Bora kit works as described. All hardware included in packaging.This allowed me to customize my Bora PM 3500 to fit the base of my Powermatic 3520C lathe perfectly.I would buy it again if needed.

I ordered these to extend the rails on a Bora PM3550 base for a 500 lb cabinet saw. The saw is about 7 ft wide due to the 50" rip fence. I wanted to make the portable base this long so that I could incorporate some storage beneath the rip fence table and that could move with the saw.There is quite a gap (at least 1/16") between the rails and the couplers. Even bolted securely, the extended rails tended to "hinge" at the couplings. For me this was a problem because the table saw base is only 2 ft wide so the extended mobile base rails had to carry the weight of the saw mid span and they could not.This may not pertain to many users but, for the money, I expected a tighter fit. And the steel is very thick so it seems additionally disappointing that the extended rails are so weak.

The good news is that my couplers came with hardware (unlike some other reviews I see here). The bad news is that I can't make the distance the the supports equal if I use these. The bolt holes don't line up between the pair. Replacement on the way, so hopefully between the 4, I'll have two that line up.

I wanted to order the 36" bars but they were on backorder from just about every online site; the only website that had them available were double the regular price. These did the same job with a lot less money. They work great and were used to extent my 3500 to accommodate a new drum sander. Very pleased.

Heavy duty just like the rest of the portamate 3500 line. Good quality and easy to install.
