Great quality fastener
We have been using the 6" version of this screw to affix 2" board foam held in place by 1x4 strapping on our garage build. We are nailing spf shiplap to the strapping. These screws are holding well and drive nicely. I have used gutter screws for a job similar to this, but they seemed more brittle (broke one of while driving it) than these timber loks. They come with a driver which meant not digging through my tools for the correct size. Great product. Have purchased multiple boxes and just wish they made a 7" version for a project I have coming up.

Just a great fastener!
Excellent fasteners! I have a bad habit in that I stop driving before the screw is home, then pull the trigger again to put the head where I want it. That's about the worst thing you can do when driving long fasteners like this because the breakaway torque is so high that heads frequently snap off. No such problem with these! I can abuse them all I want and they work great. If you are building anything with heavy treated lumber, these will help you get the job done. I ordered another box, just to have on hand. Finding the hex drive bit in the box was a pleasant surprise too.

Use these a lot and like the hold and quality.
I use these all the time and they drive easily and hold well. If you build for yourself or want to do a great job for someone else, I think these say you have pride in your work versus using basic exterior screws or, especially nails. I'm building a barn right now and use various sizes if these type screws but I've used them in virtually all my outbuildings and own house. Worth the high cost in my opinion.

Used to secure trusses, with great success!
I'm doing my second building with these. First building I used these to secure trusses. This time around, I'm using them to hold rafters. Once the screw goes through the double plate and into the rafter you can see it tighten down immediately. My previous building has been solid for 3 years. These are good screws.

Strong
I bought these to build a Tiki shed bar with round poles, they worked great. none broke and none stripped. definitely would buy this brand again. and was much less money than the box stores.

Strong and effective
I use these fasteners for a variety of purposes. Their heft gives me confidence that what I putting together is going to be soundly fastened and will hold up for the long haul. Of course drilling a pilot hole is the best practice for using this fastners but there have been plenty of occasions where I skipped pre-drilling for one reason or another and simply screwed them straight in. But so far I have never torqued these to the point of snapping as I have with cheaper standard screws or lags.I do wish the screws typically had about an inch more of thread (although this is probably a design necessity that I may not understand) as I have repeatedly run into situations where a bit more thread would have been preferred. The price is a bit steep but considering the grade of steel these use it may very well be justified.

Great substitute for old fashioned galvanized truss ties!
I recently built a 24' X 30' garage using 24 ft roof trusses. After getting it dried in, I realized I still needed to supplement the four nails on each end of the trusses where they tied to the top plate to be code compliant. I was dreading all the overhead screws. That's when I found out about the TimberLok 6" truss tie screws. One screw up through the top plates into the bottom of each truss and done! I used a cordless impact driver which made light work of the job. Get the screw started and let the impact driver do the work. The box even came with the 5/16" magnetic hex bit needed for the screw heads. I was done in a fraction of the time it used to take! Now I'm code compliant and didn't have to turn my trusses into swiss cheese with too many screws. I highly recommend.

Structural screws are a major leap forward in connection technology
Not being involved in construction on a regular basis, the value of the screws is probably already understood among professionals, but the infrequent DIYers could benefit. I was able to add on a top layer of 4x4s to a garden box, limited in speed by only how fast I could cut the pieces. The original box construction was done by drilling holes and pounding in rebar, a time consuming and physically demanding task (driving in rebar with a sledge hammer). The construction screws reduced it to 2 seconds per connection (advice: follow the manufacturer's suggestion of using an impact drill; household drills will burn out). Repairing a section of wooden fence was a breeze - attaching a section of 4x4 to an existing post and attaching the cross pieces was a five minute job.
