Wastewater Engineering: Treatment and Reuse
G**Z
An indispensable reference book.
As an enviromental engineering currently finishing my degree I can see it's a masterpiece, it has everything about wastewater treatment, you could literally build any kind of treatment plant from scrap with this book. It might be a little bit superficial in some technologies, which would require extra bibliography research but it is the most complete on the market. It is that kind of book that despite having half a dozen in the faculty library is permanently gone, and when there's one there's so much people looking for it that the librarians toss a knife between them and let the destiny decide.

Excellent Textbook, Lacks Global Perspective
I bought the book and it is worth every dollar, including the additional 18% sales tax in Israel. It is a monumental work, very clear and well written. We needed this book. Having said that, I feel that the reuse aspects in general and the "unplanned indirect drinking reuse" in particular, have received only a marginal coverage in the book. That may be sufficient for the U.S.A., but innumerable European and Asian cities base their water supply on rivers that are mostly treated wastewater. In Israel, agriculture is based on reuse yet in the book, agriculture has the same weight as golf courses. Again, in the U.S.A. it may be so, but certainly not in the rest of the world. Industrial reuse mentions only evaporative cooling and that without the critical problem of blowdown disposal. Additional examples would be helpful. In reuse issues, "emerging patogens" (i.e., those feared but yet inexistent) are given more attention that critical problems such as salt content and subsequent aquifer and soil salination. Table 13-6 does not even mention salt. The inclusion of European and Israeli contributors would have produced an even better, a more balanced work.

Standard Engineering Reference for Wastewater Engineering
My need was to get up to speed rapidly on ultra violet disinfection. While I was waiting for the book to arrive, I spent several hours on the internet. When the book came in, it tied together all the "bits" I picked up thru my search and provided more detail on some of the critical aspects.SparkyTom

Decent but could have been better.
This book was required for a college course. I bought it because it is one of the staples in wastewater engineering. While loaded with information, i was disappointed at the quality of the index as well as the examples and practice problems

Great Refreence Book
My Professor used to call this the Bible of Civil Engineering. This book is not a great textbook but it is a good reference book for the future.

Great Reference
This is the International version. It is great and has both SI and English units. I have not compared it to the hard cover, but this one is great - well worth the money (and savings).
