Excellent Value and Perfect for My Project
The SSD worked perfectly with my mini PC. I loaded Linux Mint on the SSD and it booted up without any issues.

Good value for the price.
Got 4 mini pc that were going to e-waste bin, decided to rescue them, all had 16GB storage and where 2240 size. These or the type that were compatible. They fit and work great. Speeds are great, design quality is very good, they produce very little heat, and the mini pc computer recognized the device on first boot, so I bought 4 and have no has any issues

It does what it says on the tin.
Works as expected.

Good, but looses speed after 20-30GB due to heat throttling
I bought this to add some storage to my Dell 5480 via the unused WWAN slot. It fit and works perfect for that task. Seeing read speed of 563 and write speed of 517 using CrystalDiskMark 7. Really good test speeds for a SATA SSD. However, after writing 20-30 GB, this device slows down to 80-90 Mbps write speeds due to heat throttling. The drive was at 34 degrees C when this happened. I'll keep the drive. It serves my needs, but the throughput rating is isn't really accurate if you're writing large quantities of data. I just got the drive yesterday, so I can't speak about durability.

Excellent Quality, Performance, and Price! Best bang for the buck.
I needed a somewhat large capacity NGFF drive for a upgrade limited Dell 3050 miniPC. There are not many 2242 NGFF M.2 SSD SATA drives out there to choose from and even fewer at 512GB capacity. This was half the cost of others I found and performance is excellent at this price point. I'm not sure the little Intel Celeron processor in the Dell 3050 miniPC would even take advantage of much faster. I highly recommend this and would definitely buy another if they are still available when/if needed.Update April 2019:I have purchase another one of these KingSpec 2242 NGFF 512GB M.2 SATA SSD drives as the first one works so well and performance is on par with other name brands I have purchased for a lot more money.I have two of these 512GB M.2 2242 SSD drives in an external M.2 sata raid enclosure and am amazed at the performance. KingSpec has definitely got me sold on their SSD products. If you are looking for a NGFF M.2 SATA drive as an upgrade or replacing a old SSD that is no longer functioning, you have got to give KingSpec a try. I am glad I found this product and anticipate purchasing more in the near future.Update June 5, 2020:Have purchased a few more of these since my April 2019 review update. I have to say that 2 of these SSD drives, in a internal dual M.2 sata drive enclosure running raid 0, on a older Gen3 i5 laptop has made me put off buying a new laptop for a couple more years. This is a laptop for working in a Win10, Office365, Internet, non-gaming environment. It keeps up with with my 8th Gen i5 Intel NUC mini PC where I really don’t see any difference! These are quality SSD drives with excellent performance. The first KingSpec 2242 NGFF 512GB SSDs I purchased still have a plenty of life in them and they are in a Dell E6430 laptop that runs 24/7. I have worked in IT for over 25 years and have gone through a lot of hardware in my days. I highly recommend these KingSpec SSD drives. Not a single issue with any of them yet while I have had SanDisk, Samsung, and G.Skill SSD drives wear out or flake out due to heat. I could not be happier, unless KingSpec wants to put these on sale for less! 😉

So far excellent compact second SSD drive
I am an IT professional and I like to use high quality, efficient and reliable hardware. I also like to take the maximum from what the hardware can offer. I have a Lenovo T540P I7 16GB machine as a preferred work horse. It came with a variety of slots and ports at a quite affordable price to me. So I love it and love to load it with power, at a reasonable cost and optimal budget. So, it used to be with one 500GB Samsung Evo 850 SSD as a main drive and one WD 7200rpm 750GB HD in the optical drive caddy. There is a slot for a WWAN card, which was empty and I knew it can be used to connect an m.2 SATA III SSD. I purchased the 512GB little M.2 from KingSpec and put it there with a little skepticism. It fits fine and my laptop recognized it right away. I did several practical tests and was happily surprised that the little KingSpec matched the speed and the performance of the Evo. Cloned the Evo to it (120GB used space) for about 15-20 minutes. Booted the laptop from the m.2 and ... quite no difference from the Evo. Opened some of my programming apps - same speed, no issues. Well, I will still be using the Evo as a primary boot drive. Wiped off the clone from the KingSpec and started using it for regular system backups. If someone wants to use it as a boot drive, why not? It's a good product and comes with a 3-year warranty. As long as your machine can boot from the m.2 slot, all should be fine. Oh, the temperature is also cool - at least on my machine no heat or overheat at all. I give it five stars, because there is nothing not to like from it so far, including the price!

Stay away from this SSD if you don't want to loose your data
Quality of this SSD is awful, I bought 9, on different moments, 3 of them already failed and the 4th reporting problems. I've lost all my data. I use them as system disk for proxmox in Intel NUC 13, and suddenly Proxmox started to "freeze", eventually to fully fail the OS. After a *lot* of tests we realized that the problem is this SSD, the hard way after loosing the data. Changed SSD provider a no problems so far.Absolutely not recommended.

This product ended a series of purchases & sad returns of of 3 other higher cost Competitors
When I purchased my Geekom mini pc, I decided to upgrade every upgradable Part which was basically memory and storage. Memory was easy going from already great 32GB to 64GB. My XT12Pro came with 2 M.2 Hard drives, 1-1TB NVMe with Windows 11Pro which I cloned to a 2TB NVMe and That's where the trouble started. I went through 3 So-called M.2 SATA 1TB drives, none of which worked and would not even boot to Windows, Was about to give up when I found KingSpecs M.2 SATA on Amazon. Plugged it in, a litle blue light came on to let me know it was working and BAM! Windows read and installed it immediately. A totally outstanding product. Thank you KingSpec & thank you Amazon for making this produt available.
