18 Gauge Wire 100FT, 18/2 AWG Red Black Hookup Electrical Wire LED Strips Extension Cord 12V/24V DC Cable, 18AWG 2 Conductors Flexible Wire for LED Ribbon Lamp Tape Lighting

I bought this roll of wire to create an extension cord for our Christmas Star LED lights. In the past, we would normally just run a regular orange extension cord. But with these new lights, they have a box and a remote that allows us to change the color/style of the lights. I didn’t want this box to be subject to the weather, and to be close enough so the remote would work. So I made an extension cord from this wire between the lights and the control box, using crimp connectors and heat-shrink tubing to protect the connection. It worked like a charm, and the wire disappears in the grass for the most part. I like the red wire because it’s easy to find when I’m looking for it, but to the casual observer it’s not visible. I knew LED’s pulled very minimal power, so I was pretty sure this wire would be sufficient for the distance we needed. It worked great and was a cheap modification to make. It will stay coiled up on the star until we need it next year.

Work like wire should. Like it because it is stranded so it makes deeper bends if it has to be flexible. Transmits electrical signals as expected. Easy to use, just unwind...

Very good quality wire and true to gauge size unlike some that’s made cheaper. This stuff is not thin or brittle by any means and is a solid choice for any of your boat wiring needs. Really good quality at a really good price. You cannot go wrong with this stuff.

This works well. Insulation makes me feel confident about the longevity of the wire. I used it for some engine bay wiring, and for the past couple months using the truck as a daily, the wire has held up. Given, it has extra insulation but even inside the truck when I pull off the dash, the wire still looks brand new and all electrical systems still function as intended.

Seems like ok wire, but... Copper clad aluminum. My fault for not checking more extensively. Expected all copper. Used to be all hookup wire was copper (I'm an old guy). As noted by others, it will not carry as much current safely as all copper wire. Already started using this wire before noticing the copper/aluminum description on the spool; otherwise would have returned it.

This wire is really good quality, flexible, and seems to have a high copper content. The insulation is really nice and it’s pretty thick. I really liked this wire for the money.
