Images stayed with me for 30+ years
I ordered this because the copy from my childhood was falling apart. This is a great version of the chicken little story: it is fun to read, fun to listen to, and VERY fun to look at. These pictures have lived in my mind for three decades and I love watching them imprint in the minds of my own children. Anything Stephen Kellogg is worthy of your money and time, in my humble opinion.

Chicken Little
I love this author, but this book is not the Chicken Little from the Disney movie, so if that is what you were expecting, then don't get the book..it's an interesting, but cute little story.

Chicken Little Rocks!
I disagree with the low-rating whiners seeking to relive some long-lost childhood moment with this book. This story is for kids, and they love it! This updated version of the Henny Penny (waaay outdated) classic puts a late-20th cent. spin on it. It's a great vocabulary builder, especially for Spanish-speaking learners, and comes in a Spanish version (original: Pollita Pequeñita '91) for bilingual comparison. I used this charming story of Kellogg's often in the classroom. It worked well. In fact, I used most of this prolific author's material. This from a 35-year veteran of the elementary classrooms of Los Angeles' low socio-economic neighborhoods.

I loved these books as a kid
I loved these books as a kid, and this is the first one I've bought for my 3-year-old daughter. She absolutely loves it, and the illustrations are both adorable and hilarious. She told me she wants to be Foxy Loxy for Halloween, which to me is a ringing endorsement. I can't wait to get her more Kellogg books. His illustrations are so wonderful and thoughtful. I'm enjoying reading them all over again.

Chicken little
This book was sooo cute, not exactly as I rem it as a kid but still adorable. The illustrations were adorable and for the price it was well put together and beautifully bound in a hard cover. Nice to see the "old" taes are still around!

A great twist on a classic story
A funny twist on a classic story. This particular library edition also holds up well to kids' tough use of books. Highly recommend both the story and this edition.

Sends wrong message for me
I bought this for my grand daughter based on the reviews and the picture of the police officer. I will be returning it as I was unaware the police officer was "bad". My son is a police officer and I do not agree with making children mistrust the police. They need to feel that police are someone to trust and go to if you are lost or need help
