FIVE STARS! Delicious! Great Value for Money! Healthy Organic! Humane! And, No Hassle Ordering!
This was my first ghee purchase ever. I had never heard of ghee before, but I found it whilst I was looking for something with a high smoke point for my stove top popcorn maker. After reading about this ghee and reading so many of the enthusiastic reviews, I decided to order it. Thirty-two ounces seems a lot of ghee for one person, but it is good for one entire year, and I normally use quite a bit of butter/margarine each month, so I think I can use it up within a year and maybe sooner. The jar was very well wrapped, even aesthetically wrapped, and it came in a nice, sturdy box that is entirely reusable once the jar is empty---I plan to store the jar in the box inside my cool, dry, dark pantry. (In fact, the jar itself is of such nice quality that I plan to reuse it once I have used up the ghee.) I expected it to arrive wrapped well enough to withstand the journey, but this was almost wrapped like a gift and was a lot of fun in the unwrapping to my surprise. There was a date label on the lid to tell me exactly how long I could reasonably expect to use it, too, so I need not try to remember exactly whence I purchased it. I love the large, heavy jar it come in. I am so sick of everything coming in plastic containers these days whence glass is so much nicer in so many ways.Once I unwrapped my jar, I could not wait to try it, so I popped some bread into the toaster. A minute or two later my toast was ready for the ghee. I opened the jar and sniffed. It smelt quite fresh and nice---nothing at all chemical about it---and, it was a lovely buttercup yellow colour. I spread it on my toast and took a bite. YUM!!! This is delicious!!! I cannot wait to try it in my popcorn popper as well as in cooking veggies, etc., etc.I am very pleased with my purchase of Ancient Organics ghee and will purchase it again in future. Yes, at first glance, $35 (shipped) seems expensive for a jar of "butter," but the quality of this product is so much better than the usual margarines/butters purchased at the market, and if you divide the cost by fifty-two weeks in a year, it breaks down to sixty-eight cents a week or $2.72 a month, which is about as much as I spend on one small, plastic tub of margarine at Wal-Mart. So, is this a good dea?l?! I would say so!!!I also LOVE the fact that it is made from the milk of cows that are grazed on good grasses and are never treated with drugs and/or confined to feed lots as I LOATHE factory farming. Using these sorts of products leaves my conscience free that I am not supporting an industry that factory farms animals for any purpose. The old saying "you are what you eat" is true on so many levels, and I feel good eating this ghee.I definitely recommend this ghee. Just try it. You will not be sorry. Oh, I also later found it on the manufacturer's website in smaller sized jars, so if you are really nervous about the purchase, try a small bottle for around $12 first. However, I think you will love it enough to want the thirty-two ounce jar the second time around. If you have a family or two or more, and you cook with butter and use it on toast, popcorn, etc., then I have no doubt that you can easily use up a thirty-two ounce jar in less than a year and maybe in as little as six months or less. It just depends on how much butter/margarine you normally use each week.

The Best!
This ghee is the best, it tastes and smells so good. Not to mention it is much more healthy than oils, and honestly I think it works better. Seriously nothing sticks to the pan when using this ghee, from meat to eggs. It’s just phenomenal! Would highly recommend.

Great Buttery Taste
This is my favorite brand of Ghee. I have tried other brands, but I always come back to Ancient Organics. Yes, it is a little pricy but worth the extra expense. It doesn't take much to add that buttery taste to vegetables, toast, or whatever you put it on.

Delicious!
I discovered ghee while taking a course on Ayurveda several months ago. Ghee is the best, most easily-absorbed fat your body can use. It is also really stable at high temperatures so it's great for cooking. Purchased my first 8 oz. jar of ghee (not this brand) in a health food store for $12.95 and was hooked. However, I realized I had to find a less expensive source because this stuff can be addicting. Started trying different brands from Amazon and also from brick and mortar stores. Have had some good, some not so good, and some really bad ghee (bought recently from an Indian grocery store when I couldn't get this brand last time I ran out). If you taste bad ghee the first time out, you will probably not purchase it again.Eat Good Fat is the best ghee I've tried so far and I've tried at least 7 different brands. I cook with it, use it on toast, put a tablespoon in my oatmeal and a T. in my coffee each morning (along with a T. of half and half). After eating at least 2 T. daily for 4 months, I've dropped at least 10 pounds. I did not know this could be a side benefit of eating good fat. I always ate butter but now replace butter with ghee. I used to cook with olive or coconut oil but now cook mostly with ghee.Ghee seems to help me lose my cravings for certain things like cheese and even alcoholic beverages (which could also help explain the weight loss). I also don't get ravenously hungry like I used to, so feel that it stabilizes my blood sugar levels. My normally dry skin is also not so dry anymore. So many benefits that it is worth paying over a $1/day for this. I also quit taking most of my vitamins so that saves me lots. The only negative I can say about this product is that it is no longer something you can get within 2 days. It can take a week to ten days from the time you order it until delivery. From reading other reviews it sounds like it's because people are hoarding it-buying 4 and 5 jars at a time. Maybe Ancient Organics will have to limit the number of jars you can purchase to one within a two-week period. I'd hate to see them lower the quality of this by mass producing, which may be what they'll end of doing if certain, greedy consumers keep stockpiling 4 and 5 jars at once. In the spirit of yoga, please think of your fellow ghee lovers and resist the urge to buy way more of the product than you will use in the next month or two. It tastes and works best if not refrigerated but it also has a 2 month shelf life out of the fridge so no need to buy more than you're going to consume during that time.

Not what it once was.
I have been buying AO ghee since they came on the scene. Years ago, this product was so delicious and had a nutty flavor with such a velvety texture and clarity. Lately, probably the last 2 orders, have not been the ghee I know and love. It tastes like straight up tallow now and does not solidify at room temperature in my never-above-70-home. It is gritty looking and some times has little particulates in it when fully melted. Also, I let an almost empty jar sit on a counter for maybe a mouth and the “ghee” left in the jar turned white and has a very tallowy smell to it. I included pictures showing the best by date and the white color of the “ghee”. I hope AO hasn’t sold out to making a subpar product to keep up with demand. Or sold their brand altogether and the new owners aren’t as passionate about producing a quality product. Very seriously considering looking for a new ghee brand to take AO’s place in my home. If I wanted to cook with tallow I would buy tallow! This is not the ghee I knew and once loved.
