Active HDMI to DisplayPort Adapter, 4K 60Hz, USB Powered, HDMI in DP out Video Cable for Laptop/PC/Game Host to Monitor/TV

I bought this to use on my 2010 27" iMac so I can use it's display with other devices. It works great with the PS3 and PS4 and other games consoles but the iMac can ONLY display in 720p. This is due to the iMac only having display modes for 720p and 1440p the converter I'm sure has other modes so this is not a limitation of the converter! Works great for my needs so if you want to use your iMac display with HDMI devices this one works! You do need to invest in a display port to mini display port adapter but these are only around £3 online.Definitely recommend this if you want to use target display mode on your iMac. Hopefully this will save someone else the guesswork I had to go through to find a solution.

Initially, I thought this product was a dud, but after extensive troubleshooting and some help from the vendor, I discovered a couple of things that may be of use to anyone else having the same problem.I was using a MacBook Pro with a Dell U2414H. The cable I was using allows the HDMI output on my MacBook to connect to a DisplayPort (or mini-DisplayPort) input on the monitor. This is an unusual setup!1st Problem: this model of Dell monitor does not have DisplayPort enabled by default. You need to go into the settings and enable "DisplayPort 1.2".2nd Problem: not sure which device is at fault here, but I needed to unplug the MacBook from the monitor, then remove power from the monitor. Wait around 10 seconds. Then reconnect the DP cable from MacBook to monitor and finally reconnect the monitor power. When the monitor comes back up from fully powered off, with a DP cable connected, this forced the MacBook to detect it.Hope this is of some use to other disappointed customers!

This works absolutely fine to connect an HP laptop to an old Apple LED Cinema Display 24 inch. It's possible to set the resolution to the display's native resolution of 1920 x 1200However, as it does say in small print, it does not work with the Nintendo Switch or the PS4 Pro, nor with 4th gen Apple TV.

I now have a Raspberry Pi 3B connected to an HP monitor's DP port and displaying an excellent quality image on the monitor.However this arrangement is not 100% trouble free. There is a niggling annoyance AFTER shutting down the Pi. Once the Pi has been shutdown and the USB power cable has been unplugged from the Pi, the Pi remains powered on (red LED remains illuminated). When the Pi is in this pseudo-shutdown state, it does not reboot if the power cable is reattached to it. It is only once the DP adaptor is also unplugged from the Pi, or the DP adaptor's power cable is unplugged from the PSU that the Pi finally shuts down completely.Interestingly once the Pi has booted the power cable for the HDMI-DP adaptor can be unplugged from the PSU and the monitor continues to work.

Great product,, it does exactly what it advertised.I have bought 2 of these, one for my xbox s and the other for my xbox series x, both with great results, picture quality and frame rates through displayport on both my monitors have improved massively.I would highly recommend this product to anyone who games alot, especially on console with monitor with DP, you will be presently surprised.I play a lot of FPS games and this has helped improve my visibility considerably.Great price, well packaged and I started using it the day after I ordered it.

Back in the day, pc VR's used display port! Well unfortunately my laptop doesn't have such a slot. So this little adaptor helped very much with a specific issue. The adaptor doesn't work 100% but all it takes is some fiddling around and praying to the tech gods.

The media could not be loaded. Bought it as it said it will support 120hz as my monitor has got 1440p, soon as it tests the screen goes black. Waste of money

I bought this as a basic option to connect an external monitor to my laptop, whilst using my laptop screen as a secondary monitor. This works perfectly, it's small nimble size is perfect and takes up less room than expected. Suitable for small spaces and only has one HDMI port, but there are multiple USB ports to run / charge your other devices and peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, headset etc without using the ports on the laptop itself.Excellent value for money, worth the wait for delivery too and a good cheaper alternative to purchasing a proper Dell or Lenovo branded docking station.
