Reading and understanding the message contained in this book will save you bundle of money in your investing life
The book was originally written in 1930s. What is amazing is even after 70- 80 years the book reads fresh. Just shows that more things change more they remain the same. All the shenanigans done by the wall street crowd then still hold relevance today because those things are still happening. Just replace few names like investment trust with mutual funds and you are good to go.All these frauds apply to India also. Examine the recent NSEL scam after reading this book. Or Harshad Mehta & Ketan Parikh scams. Just see how brokers encourage short term active trading to earn commissions at the cost of investors. In India one reputed private bank (Kxxx bank) also tricks people into high risk commodity trading using futures. Also compare how IPO game is played by the investment banks and promoters to make money at the cost of investors. Reading and understanding the message contained in this book will save you bundle of money in your investing life. No wonder Buffet has recommended this ripe old book many times. And I will do the same to you. Buy this book, read it slowly and save yourself from Dalal street crooks.
