my red and blue seats arrived and they are each 18 x 16 not 20 x 16 - am I supposed to try to stretch them to fit the 20 inch seat?????

Anyone still wondering about the size--read the description--it says seat bottom is 18" and the seat back is 20".I replaced the material for two chairs from two different suppliers. The first one said wash with mild soap and install wet, then the seat bottom will stretch more easily. I ordered Navy blue and got purple and purple isn't even listed.

Yes it would fit your chair. It also came with the round rods which slide down the grooves for the seat. I did buy some other covers some time ago and they were way too big and came with flat rods which were OK but obviously not the correct type but these were a perfect fit. Hope this helps.

Does the seat replacement have a wood flat fowl that stretchess

Mine came with round wooden dowels that fit the chair perfectly.
