Tetra 77140 EasyBalance PLUS Water Conditioner, 16.9-Ounce

I have purchased a couple of times now and it works great. Water quality shows improvement and it’s good for the price.

I've had a lot of problems with elevated nitrates for quite some time despite frequent water changes. I managed to stumble across this product after doing a Google search on ways to decrease nitrates and thought I would give it a try.I did notice there were several comments regarding this product making the aquarium water cloudy but did see a comment that mentioned giving the bottle a good shake and whisking before adding the water to the aquarium. I've done that and haven't had an issues with cloudy water and my fish appear to have a lot more pep over the course of the last month. As well, test strips are showing a steady drop off of nitrates in the water. Don't expect that to happen overnight. And you have to be consistent with your water changes using a gravel vac.I have a 20 gallon tank and usually replace 20% - 25% of the water weekly. I give the bottle a good shake and add 2 cap fulls of EasyBalance to approximately 1 gallon of water. Give it a really good whisk and add the rest of the water. I tried whisking with a full 5 gallons of water in the bucket and did have some slight cloudiness in the aquarium water. You won't get as good of a mix if you whisk in a full bucket of water versus a small amount.I recommend this product to help improve the health of your aquarium.

It helps to extend water changes when life gets too hectic. Maintains water quality longer.

Update: fish didn't die lol! Emailed the company and they confirmed this is how is supposed to be. Not sure if it works but I'm using it when needed.Original review: Unsure if this one is a bad one, but I opened the lid. Had no seal. Not sure if it's supposed to. I poured the dose in and it was so thick it looked chunky in the water. My angel went and ate a bunch of it. The only bit that wasn't eaten landed on the bottom of the tank and isn't dissolving. I'm worried now this is not good and I might be losing fish. I did email tetra worried about this now and hoping for clarity. I know ordering from Amazon sometimes we don't get the authentic product which now I'm really regretting not running down to the store and grabbing a bottle.
