Q: Any simple, quick ways to hang canvas using the stas system? we hang different small canvas projects every week (do not want to use sawtooth or wire)

I don't Know what you mean by “sawtooth”. You can use steel cable or plastic filament like fishing line. I think you can order from Stas as alternate to the steel cable.

Q: How thick are these, or how far do they protrude from the wall?

The depth of the zipper hook is 9/16" , this is the measurement from the back of the zipper hook (the part that touches the wall) to the front of the protruding hook part.

Q: Would these work with a sawtooth picture hanger?

No the sawtooth hangers are to tight and have to be bent out. Also the brads that are generally used to hold the sawtooth hangers on tend to get loose. I recommend the use of wire hangers held on with eye screws, or some frames come with suitable loop hangers already installed.

Q: What are the dimensions of the stas zipper hooks? i will be hanging small stretched canvas artwork and would like them close to the wall.

Height is 1 1/8 and width is 1 1/4. They are very small but very strong. We have used them to hang 3 long, narrow pieces framed and with glass.
