Essential Sunscreen Lip Balm – Dermatologist Recommended for Skin Protection!
The Sun Bum Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm has become a crucial part of my daily routine. After having skin cancer, my dermatologist recommended this to use whenever I’m outside, and I couldn’t be happier with it. It provides excellent sun protection, feels smooth on my lips, and doesn’t leave a heavy or greasy residue. Knowing that I’m using a product recommended by my dermatologist gives me peace of mind. If you’re looking for reliable sun protection for your lips, I highly recommend this lip balm!

Comparison report with other brands.
I've ordered several different brands of lip balms to find one that has: no flavor, no color, moisturizing, spf 30, and lasts long on the lips. Here are the lip balms I purchased and conclusions.1. Banana Boat spf 45 (with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E) - This didn't last long on the lips. Wasn't moisturizing enough. A bit dry when applied.2. Sun Bum spf 30 Mineral lip balm - This one left a white cast and had some awful taste.3. Blistex Five Star Protection spf 30 - Very dry. Not moisturizing at all. Dried out my lips. Hard in texture as if I didn't put anything on.4. O'keefe's Lip Repair spf 35 Soothing Aloe Boost. - This I thought I found what I was looking for. It has everything in what I was looking for in a lip balm. But was very disappointed because it contains cancer causing chemical saccharine.* 5. Sun Bum Signature spf 30 Vegan and Cruelty Free - This was the best one that meets all my criteria. It's also moisturizing. Lasts for hours on my lips. People say that it leaves a white cast and that is true it does slightly. However after applied once it sits for about a minute it disappears. Price is resonable. It's the right combination of what I wanted in a lip balm. Finally found what I was looking for. ...Noel

Good water resistant SPF lip balm for sensitive skin
This is a pretty good SPF lip balm. It is water resistant for up to 80 minutes and has an SPF rating of 30. The mineral filter in this product is zinc oxide which leaves a slight white case that tends to fade slightly as it dries. I found that this product did not irritate my lips as it uses zinc rather than a chemical filter. Because It has a chemical filter, this product doesn't have the typical bitter, chemical-like aftertaste that you get with some other SPF lip balms. It does have a strange smell and taste, however. It isn't the same as a chemical sunscreen taste and I can't quite put my finger on what it reminds me of, but the smell is definitely present. The moisturizing ability of this lip balm is just okay. It won't moisturize as well as something more occlusive but does a decent job nonetheless. Overall, I would recommend this product to almost anyone who does not mind a zinc smell and taste, and who needs a good water resistant SPF lip balm.

Finally
This lip balm does leave a bit of a white cast, but I can live with that. I wear it over lip stain so it lightens the overall color, but not too badly. It helps to only do a couple swipes which keeps it sheer. This is an unsweetened, unflavored mineral sunscreen. I didn’t want to be ingesting chemical sunscreen and I hate lip balms that are sweet because they always use gross artificial sweeteners.

Leaves Lips WHITE
Leaves my lips looking deathly white. I have no doubt this protects from the sun, but it leaves a pastey white residue on my lips, so I don't like wearing it out in public. Kinda defeats the purpose for me.

The best lip sunscreen I've found so far
This is the best sunscreen lip balm I've found so far and the only one I've repurchased! It's the highest SPF I've found. It's zinc, so you're getting the best sun protection, least irritating, and most stable type of sunscreen for one of the most fragile skin areas on your face. It hasn't given me any blisters, acne, or angular cheilitis like others have. It's is a thicker, more waxy balm, which is better because you know it will stay put for longer and even though it's not that moisturizing for me personally, it's not drying either. It's scent and taste free. It DOES HAVE A SLIGHT WHITE CAST for more pigmented lips. I'm pale, but my lips are naturally very rosy and it was a little washed out when wearing the balm, but with lip gloss over it it wasn't noticeable at all.

Applies wonderfully
This is the third SPF 30 lip balm I've tried, and it's my favorite. I will continue buying it. It goes on smooth and is moisturizing. It stays on reasonably well throughout drinking. There is a bit of a white cast discoloration but only when applying--it goes away quickly. The only caveat is the bad odor; I don't know it's normal or if I got a bad one. It does dissipate with time, but it's definitely annoying when wearing a face mask (which are only UPF 5-7). UPDATE: My second stick does not have the odor, so I think the first one had gone bad. I wish you didn't have to contact the company with a code on the package to find out its expiration date. I also notice the second stick goes on better--less thick and therefore not at all white. I use 2 swipes per lip.
