It undergoes "fluid bed processing" which passes a gas directly through the bed of solid material via a perforated plate, nozzles, or other fluidizing media, thereby lifting and mixing the solids. It is used to dry, cool and sterilize and allows for efficient processing without product degradation via its gentle fluidizing action.
