Good Performance. Excellent Value.
I've had this for almost 2 months now. Overall happy with the laptop. I don't think I could have done much better for the price. To get everything I could have hoped for, I needed to spend twice this amount (or maybe more). For about $1000, I got better than 90% of what I wanted. I added 16gb of memory a month after purchase for about $75. This helps a bit with multitasking, but not really with gaming. Probably not needed realistically unless you frequently run several apps at the same time.Pros:4k display is beautiful.Runs most programs fast and flawlessly.Fast start-up. Facial recognition on sign-in is nice.Dell makes setup and optimization very easy.My old laptop (intel i5 with integrated gpu) couldn't handle 3D applications like Home Designer or Stud IO, but this has no problem once GPU drivers are up to date.Cons:Not a hardcore gaming laptop. 4gb GPU feels under-powered. Don't expect to play games in 4k mode or get above average FPS. I play mostly Madden and Forza Horizon 4. Both are very playable, but I had to dial back the resolution and settings. This was a bit disappointing because both look amazing in 4k, but I suppose I should have known considering this is not a top end Nvidia GPU. Passmark rating of 65th percentile, 74th percentile after adding the extra 16gb of RAM.512gb SSD is filling up fast once I started loading applications. Filled up half of it in the first 2 weeks. Shouldn't be an issue, but will have to remove apps that I don't use in the future. Same laptop with a 1tb SSD is significantly more expensive though. As others have stated, the GPU fan is very audible, but I don't find it to be annoying. Some might though. It only kicks on when I play games or use 3D applications (integrated Intel GPU handles everything else), so I don't hear it under "normal" use.The laptop definitely runs hot, a laptop cooling pad is probably a good (cheap) investment.Dell setup did not update the GPU driver. I had to do this directly through Nvidia. 3D performance was really bad until I did.If I got to do it all over again, I wish I had spent more and got a laptop with a better GPU. But if your budget is $1000, I don't think you'll find a better laptop.

Something isn't quite right with this configuration
I haven't had good luck with this particular Dell model. I purchased it directly from Dell and had to return it due to poor performance and significant lag when performing basic tasks (e.g. drag-and-drop of a file from one folder to the next). Dell graciously replaced my purchase with another device of the same vintage, with the thought that the first machine was somehow a lemon... The replacement suffers from the same issues as the original. I've not had luck with this machine.

Overall Good, Some ScratchyNoises...
Pros:Feels good, looks good, runs like a champ and keeps decent thermals. The screen is nice and vibrant and get very bright. The keyboard is very Dell.Cons:There is a strange static and scratchy sound coming from the computer . It sounds kinda like a failing hard drive but this laptop has no hard drive, just the NVME ssd.The power button has terrible feedback. The touchscreen seems to turn on and off for power savings. Sometimes I go to use it and it's just not on, I have to go into the device manager and turn it back on.

Great Value
excellent value for the hardware performance. It's held up well over a couple years. Battery isn't amazing but I work with it plugged in. speakers are pretty bad but I use headphones or speakers. Its my home office with a secondary monitor. Used a mac before, but I'd have to spend an extraordinary amount for comparable specs.
