THAT'S RIGHT......G-O-B-S-M-A-K-E-D.....A Britism. This word comes from Irish and Scottish Gaelic. It still pops up in other places in British slang – for example, “shut your gob!” I.E. Shut your gaping mouth. If you say that you were “gobsmacked,” it means that you were so surprised or astonished, it was as though someone had smacked you in the mouth which sets your eyes rolling and your head spinning.I never expected a tome that would look like it belongs on a shelf in the restricted section of the Hogwarts Research Library. Everything you ever wanted to know (or did not even know you wanted to know) is there from transition from books to film, to cast interactions, to film techniques, to art and costuming.....and on and on and on.Amazon gave me the opportunity to purchase a HUGE book on the Harry Potter films at a very good price. 9.5 in wide, 13 in tall, 2 inc thick.. 540 pages crammed with interviews, drawings, set shots, brilliant cast photos and tons of insights. A magnificent production.A coffee table book for sure.

First of all, this price of $45 is a STEAL for this book. MSRP price is $75. And with all of the information that is packed into this book I feel like even $75 is a low price for what you get.It is very heavy. Great quality. The pages feel thick when you turn the page.I LOVE reading and watching about behind the scenes sort of things for films and video games, etc. This book starts from the very beginning of the journey from the second they picked up the idea from the bottom shelf in their office. I really enjoyed that they included so many names of everyone involved and tiny details about the journey of the production. At the end of the movies you see names scroll across the screen in the credits, and most people ignore that part... when those are all of the people that made this entire movie franchise possible. After reading it it really makes you appreciate all of the work of the set designs, down to the double desks they use in the classrooms, the blackboards and the detail on those, the architecture of Hogwarts, etc. They put so much thought into each detail that may only appear for a few moments on screen. I hope to go back and watch the movies just to pay attention to the background. It makes you feel like you were apart of the production yourself, sitting in the coffee shop with Jo while they discussed the very beginnings of the movie production. I believe the book has the same font used in the Harry Potter novels as well, which brings back the sense of familiarity.As for the missing picture as mentioned in another review, my copy DID have the copy of J K Rowlings quick sketch of the Hogwarts grounds. Perhaps they fixed the misprint issue since, but mine was perfectly fine.Buy this book, you won't regret it.I am excited to display this book on my bookshelf.

This was an excellent choice and my nephew loved loved loved it.

This book is beautiful. I had the first edition and a bad little doggie chewed on it (my fault for having it where she could). When I found out this one was updated with more information, I was glad to pay the price for it. It is great quality. The pictures are amazing. The binding is good. I’m a big fan.

The media could not be loaded.  I haven't read the book yet so I can't rate as far as the context of what's in the book however I can tell you there is a heck of a lot of context. This is a very heavy hardcovered book. There's almost 550 pages of behind the scenes footage and interviews and quotes from the actors themselves. This book seems to be very promising and I am very excited to add it to my Harry Potter book collection!

If you are a Harry Potter fan, this book is a must have! Beautifully done and absolutely huge, it is filled with incredible pictures and information on every aspect of each HP film! Well worth the price!!

Great book! So much detail and so many pictures still lots of good reading! Lots of movie details. If you want details on the HP books this is not the book and only has movie details. There are some book details like adapting book to script which I like but not a lot of book details. Super big and it's so heavy it can be hard to handle but just lots of detail.

Excellent Value! This book is $70 at Barnes and Noble. So excited to get it for this price for my daughter as A Christmas gift. Her budget will now go much further and I will be able to get a couple of more things on her list! My other daughter has the older version and it’s a great book. Not sure how this one is updated (other than the cover-which is really cool btw) as it haven’t removed from plastic wrap, but anything Harry Potter is awesome so I’m not too concerned with the content. Gorgeous book. In the back of the book however, there are about 10 pages written in french.
