Shedding has all but stopped
I got two kittens from the humane society in July 2021. I know you are not supposed to just suddenly switch foods, so I took it extra slow as I changed them from the Purina Kitten Chow they had been on, to Blue Buffalo Kitten. They did well for awhile, but then I noticed one kitten suddenly started blowing coat around November. I know cats shed and especially long-haired cats, but this was HORRIBLE. When she would just walk by you she had a cloud of hair blowing in the wind reminiscent of the cloud that followed Pigpen on the old Charlie Brown cartoons. I was having to vacuum the curtains, the carpets and the furniture at least twice a day, on top of which I was going through at least one and sometimes two lint rollers EVERY DAY. I have a large air purifier that normally takes a new filter every 6 months or so, but now I was having to change filters every 1-2 weeks! It was unbearable. The next thing I noticed was that at times a few minutes after eating, she would throw up. She was scratching constantly and would have sneezing fits that would go on for a full minute or more. She was grumpy and preferred not to be handled. She stopped wanting to play with her sister as well, preferring instead to hide away and sleep.Multiple vet checks revealed nothing obviously wrong. They both had the softest, shiniest coat the vet had ever seen. I got a lot of compliments on them. But as I searched for an answer, I kept running across food allergies as a possible cause for her symptoms. So I found this limited ingredient diet and decided to try it.Over the course of a month I slowly switched them over to this food. The sneezing stopped, the scratching stopped, and wonder of wonders--her shedding dropped to a normal level at last!I will probably never know for sure exactly what was in the regular food that she was allergic to, but am I ever glad to have found this! Now Honey is back to running around the house like her tail is on fire, playing with her sister and being the comic she was as a kitten. Her coat is full again and still just as shiny and soft as before. And the best part is that it comes in different flavors, so I can switch them up every week or so to prevent them from getting bored.Very good food that I highly recommend. A bit pricey, but I look at it as an investment. Pay a little more over time with the food and keep them healthy; or feed cheap food and get hit later on with a sudden emergency health issue that you aren't prepared for. I will buy the better food.

Well worth the price!
This food immediately stopped the vomiting of my four cats, ages ranging 7-10 years old. That alone makes Blue Buffalo worth the price, but there's other benefits too. They been eating Blue Buffalo for two months now. They're so much more active, like they're five years younger! Even when they're not playing, they're so much more alert than they used to be. Their muscle tone is better and their poops are less smelly. They seem to like the taste; the first time I put it in their bowls they dug in without hesitation. They eat less of it than they did the other brand, believe it or not. I think it's because it's more satisfying to them than the other was. The smell of the food is kind of strong when I open the bag, but i just try not to stick my face too close to the bag when I'm feeding them, and it doesn't stink up the house or anything, so i can live with it.Their coats are magnificent now; shiny and sleek, silky, with much less shedding and no flaky dandruff! The bald patches on their feet are filling in nicely too. That may be a combination of finally having good quality food and a bath with Zymox Shampoo and Conditioner.I will continue to buy Blue Buffalo for my cats. I have also tried them on the duck and potato, and they'll eat it but seem much fonder of the turkey and potato.

Great dry food option for novel protein diets
I've had issues with my cat having soft stools on and off for awhile now. I tried using pumpkin for fiber, fortiflora for gut health but always the soft stools returned. Not to mention he always had itchy ears and reoccurring ear infections which my vet suggested could be food related. I finally looked into changing proteins and there was a recommendation for this brand and it has done wonders. My cats stool looks much healthier now and he doesn't seem to be as itchy as he used to be around his ears. Highly recommend this as a first step in moving toward a novel protein diet.

Tasty food for kitties
My cats do like this. However, I can't give it five stars because it is a little difficult for them to eat. The food kernels are very small and it is difficult for older cats to chase them around their food dish.

Good for sensitive stomachs
My cat used to throw up about once a week. Now she never does. My other cat had constipation issues and does better on this food.

Expensive Food But It Helped My Cat
I bought this food for my cat who was plagued with diarrhea and I thought a limited ingredient food might help her thinking she might have a food allergy. Since cats are more likely to have allergies to chicken I decided to buy the duck formula. The food didn't help her diarrhea, but the food doesn't claim that. After I took her to the vet I found out her problem was IBD and just food alone couldn't solve her problem. With medication we kept her on this food because she seemed to like it and she started doing very well. She got back to normal. During the winter we had trouble getting this food delivered and I had to switch to the vet recommended food for her condition, and she didn't do well on it at all. I went back to this food and she's back to doing better. It's expensive food but the ingredients are limited and seem to be of good quality. I'm confident this food has contributed to my cat's continued good health.

Great for some kitties, not so much for others
My furry boss enjoyed the food, but it did not agree with her. Eating this caused her to develop skin and fur issues, where she would chew on her belly to the point that it looked like a connect-a-dot picture and her fur became dry and matted. It took several months after putting her back on Wellness CORE dry food to get her fur back to being soft, smooth, and shiny, and her belly is again dot free. I used to think that she was just allergic to chicken, but apparently there is another ingredient that triggers her issues.

It's up to my cat
This is my cat's staple food, she is 13 years old and picky and whiny as hell. She loves this food.
