I ordered this SIM card a couple of days before a 5 day trip to New York.We were flying out and arriving in NY on a Friday. So I registered the card online on the Wednesday a few days prior to our trip, asking for it to be activated on the Friday. This took 5 minutes to do and was very simple and easy to follow.I then received lots of updates from the carrier over the next couple of days informing me that the SIM had been officially registered with them and would be activated for use from the Friday that I had requested. Very reassuring. I then received a message on the Friday morning before our flight, from the carrier, informing me that the card had now been fully activated and was ready to use. I inserted the SIM card upon arrival at JFK later in the day, and was immediately recieving 5G signal near enough all across New York for the duration of our trip. It worked flawlessly.I had my wife and stepson also tapping into a hotspot from my phone, and they were getting a good 4G signal as well (not 5G like I was, but still a very fast 4G connection). I didn't notice any lag or slowdowns whilst letting them hotspot from me and the internet was still good enough for them to stream HD videos, video call and send photos etc. So they were happy and I was very impressed by the mobile service.An important thing to add and note for anyone purchasing this SIM....I noticed that it states in the instructions and packaging, "On the date you choose, your SIM will be activated by end of day. Any time after this date, insert the SIM card into your unlocked phone to activate and start using it."I was slightly worried by this, as I had only purchased a SIM card with the exact amount of days as our trip. Luckily for us, we were flying late in the afternoon and arriving at night. So if there were any delays with the SIM activation, it wouldn't have really affected us. So I just took the chance and risked it.Fortunately the activation was completed swiftly on the day I asked for it and it was ready for us to use before we had even left the UK.But, if you were going to be arriving in America early in the morning, I would very much advise purchasing one of the SIMS with a day more than you actually need if possible, and request for the SIM to be activated the day before you travel. As this will ensure that your SIM will be fully activated and ready for you to use from the moment you arrive. If not, you run the risk that the activation might be delayed on the day of your arrival and you will be left with no internet, texts or phone calls when you need them most.

I bought a 30day (5G) SIM card for a 21 day visit to family in North Carolina. I had a bad experience last year when the SIM card was not usable for 5 days due to the card being not activated when I had wanted. This year I changed my UK sim card for T-Mobile's; at Atlanta apt. This year it worked immediately. The 5G speed was unbelievably fast too, so to was the DATA. I was absolutely delighted. A couple of things to help in your decision to get one or not. When I checked the web page it told me that my phone could not be used in the USA. That was wrong (I'd used it the previous year, OK) I checked on T-Mobiles USA web site. It Informed that it would have "limited functionality". Took an 'educated' chance, based on previous visits. But it worked a treat on 5G. Also it's worth knowing that since around 2019, most smartphones have the ability built in & thus eSIMS as an app & are able to be downloaded onto phones, so check your phone's compatibility. Yes i would recommend having a USA SIM card when visiting USA, just make sure you follow the activation instructions that come with the card.

Very disappointed with the service I received. We were travelling and due to arrive in the USA on a Sunday. The information states there is no customer support on Sunday and the e-sim cannot be activated on Sunday's.I therefore arranged activation for the Saturday before we travelled. The sim had not been activated by lunchtime, so I had an online chat to ensure it would be activated on the Saturday to be ready for when we arrived in the States. I was reassured that the sim was scheduled for activation.Unfortunately it was not activated, I could not do anything on the Sunday as there is no support available. On route to the airport both myself and my wife purchased an e-sim from one of the big operators who's name is a number. This was activated instantly so we had some service when we arrived in the USA.I had another online chat on the Monday morning and they assured us that both Sims would be activated as a priority within an hour. Which my sim was activated within the hour. My wife's sim was not and we had to have another online chat to get it activated. Once activated they did both work. However we both received several calls from what appeared to be debt collection agencies, chasing whoever must have had the number previously.If you do purchase one and are travelling on Sunday request activation on the Friday.

Good way to keep connected with unlimited data for travelling, navigation, google maps etc, not to mention emails, sending buckets of HD photos and video home to family and friends and day to day data. A much better and more secure way of doing holidays transactions, such as banking (versus the unknown and potentially insecure multitude of iffy WiFi networks!) Also gives you an American mobile number for local calls, booking restaurants etc. Like all other mobile networks, when you are in remote areas, signal compromised but only as expected. I had great 5G in other the main locationsDo get a plan that allows you an extra day or so to register and load the eSIM the day before you to go to ensure you are live on arrival (and not looking for a WiFi network to download when you are there!)

This SIM card worked perfectly and is exceptional value for money. My reason for 4 stars is that it took me a while to figure out how to activate the sim card - luckily I did this before I travelled. The instructions are very light - I spent some time with the chat facility to understand what I needed to do. Everyone was very helpful, just a bit of anxiety on how to activate. Data speeds were terrific and the local number was a bonus. Meant I could keep in touch with the family easily without worrying about wifi or data costs.
