Easy to use but use as a guideline, not a definitive result
I'm getting a little older now and while I'm not at the age where menopause should be hitting me full force, I'm at the right age for premenopause or perimenopause and have been wondering where I stand. I didn't want to go to the doctor to get my hormone levels checked due to the cost of visits and labwork, the difficulty of getting in to see someone and the fact that it's not essential that I know, just something that I would LIKE to know. The kit includes an instruction manual and two tests, meant to be taken a week apart and compared for consistency and to determine menopausal stage when combined with symptoms (for example, two negatives and no physical symptoms indicate premenopause, while either a positive then a negative or the reverse combined with irregular periods means early perimenopause). The rest was fairly easy to administer (essentially just like taking a pregnancy test, if that's something you've ever done). While the majority of the the information provided indicates that the test should be taken mid-stream. Instructions are included for how long and how deep to dip the test in a cup of urine if you prefer that to actually peeing on tip of the test itself. In 5 minutes, the results are ready to be read, but the first test alone is not sufficient! A second test must be performed a week later for comparison and completion of the test results.I've only taken the first test so far and it performed as expected (no invalid results and worked in the estimated time frame). We'll see what the second test in the box says to get my answer on where I'm at in my.While going to the doctor and having blood drawn to check FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) is the ideal way of getting a truly accurate impression of where you stand on the menopausal scale, these home tests might give you a good general idea of roughly what stage of menopause you're in. Results can be discussed with your doctor or just give you a fairly good idea of where you're at without the expense and hassle of a doctor's visit and having labs drawn.

Not sure it’s reliable.
Eh. I know I’m having perimenopause symptoms but both the tests I took said negative. So not really sure how accurate it is.

Great concept, not meant for people on birth control pills
Like many other reviewers, I also missed the fact that these aren't meant for people who take hormone supplements or hormonal birth control. But I think having a home kit that this that can give you any kind of early insight is great. It may not be your final stopping ground to decide if you have menopause or not, but it would be an easy first step. I love that this exists honestly. Also, if you are using birth control pills, I don't see the harm in trying this either. Worst case, is you can't really rely on the answer. But honestly, birth control pills are supposed to help mask the symptoms of menopause so maybe you use this test as a person on birth control pills and find out that is still says you are in menopause? So....your BC isn't masking it anymore...Or you think you SHOULD be in menopause and this test helps confirm that your birth control pills are ''working'' to hide the symptoms.I am not a medical professional. But I am just figuring that the cost of a non invasive pee test isn't much, and you have nothing to to lose by trying it. If you do get a test that suggests you are menopausal, maybe it is time to see your doctor and discuss things further.NOTE - You may have seen the line above my review that says, ''Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product.'' So you may be thinking, ''Who cares what this person says because of course they will say nice things because they got something for free?!?'' I know because I used to feel the same way when I read reviews!Well, you may not have realized this, but vine reviewers are subject to having to pay taxes on these items. So, in a way, it's not really ''free.'' Also, we have no reason not to give full honest opinions. We don't get dropped out of the program for rating things too high or too low. Therefore, my goal is to review the products honestly and thoroughly. I hope that I did that for you today.

Great for some insight
I'm 38 so perimenopause seems to be lurking around the corner and it's not something I'm looking forward to. My doctors say it's too early to test my hormones so I thought this was my next best option just to get an idea of things. The instructions are great and easy to understand. They have a lot of good information. The test-taking process was also very easy and lets you know what to do if your cycles are irregular, as well. You take it on the first day of your period and then another a week later. My result came up with a very faint line and normally with tests like this they give you some sort of vague answer about results when you either do see or don't see a line which isn't always helpful. Everything was very easy to use and great quality. My results came back negative according to the chart which gave me some peace of mind. The tests say not to trust the accuracy if you're on birth control but after my research the minipill (which I'm on) shouldn't influence the test as much as the combination pill. My cycles had been all over the place but it seems like that's just from the pill now instead of perimenopause.Overall if you just want to get a little bit of insight before you spend money on a doctor visit this is a great, relatively cheap way to do that and you can measure the differences over time.
