SANDAL 33 Niche Collection New York 100 ML (3.4 oz) EDP for Men and Women – Woody Oriental Perfume with Sandalwood, Violet, and Leather – Long-Lasting Unisex Fragrance

I've reviewed and tried a LOT of fragrances over the years and have a decent collection and belong to many hobbyist groups like "Brotherhood of Scent". What I have noticed is there has been a push for Middle Eastern fragrance houses to push past the"us too" mindset trying to become a staple source like Italy, France, UK, US etc. Because of that I have been finding some real heavy hitting "mature" frags that are essentially a bargain. There are also some extremely good dupes in the ranks as well. That's where I put "Sandal 33"; an excellent, mature dupe of "Santal 33" a sandalwood based fragrance.This fragrance says:"Top notes: Cardamom and papyrus provide a fresh, spicy opening."I get some of the spice in the opening, but to be honest I don't really pick up cardamom much at all. It's not a bad thing, I just don't pick it up. What I find is a more spice and floral opening where the floral hangs around a decent amount.;"Heart notes: Sandalwood, violet, and orris add softness and depth."This, this is what I find very present in the opening and yes, it stays as the heart for a nice long while. The orris tends to fade off first, then the violet and the sandalwood just keeps going and going which leads us to the base..."Base notes: Cedarwood, leather, amber, and musk create a warm, refined finish."What really shines through for me in the base is the amber and musk. I have many fragrances with a cedarwood base and I just can't find it here...again, the result is not a bad thing. It's a very light musk blended with the sandalwood and just a hint of leather that's hangs around for days. (Literally) Very nice, very pleasant.Sillage (Scent trail) is decent, but no one can track you down in the office by your scent trail. More like a gentle wave of fragrance as you walk by and then it trails off.Longevity is honestly ridiculous. I generally wear my around the house sweatshirts for 2 or 3 days depending on what I'm doing and if they get dirty. My sweatshirt right now I can smell the frag 3 days later to the point my daughter gave me a hug good night and said "You smell nice daddy". All the complexity is obviously not there but there is enough still shining through that it smells nice!It's a great fragrance that depending on how you use it I can see it being unisex, but I do think this is more for the men than the women. 5 stars all day, don't be afraid to blind buy if you like woody and somewhat floral notes.Oh! I almost forgot, my one gripe! Ready? The atomizer is way way way too fine. The mist is so fine I have to keep it close to what I'm spraying or it doesn't touch down on my skin, shirt, collar etc etc. (So be aware you're going to have to spray way more that you would normally think is "okay" or "too much} YMMV.

It smells wonderful, but doesn’t last on me.

Maison d'Orient has made an eau du parfum, SANDAL 33, with a lovely scent that is equally nice for both men and women. Its base notes are cedarwood, leather, amber, and musk. It opens with spicy notes, cardamom and papryus, and then transitions to sandalwood, violet and orris. The base provides for a lasting scent. This particular scent lasts longer than many colognes and perfumes. The base notes, cedarwood, leather, amber and musk are quite clear after nearly a full day of wearing this scent. You enjoy the opening notes for a short while and get to the middle (the heart) scent which lasts for several hours and then proceed to the base that stays with you all day long. The scent smells good on men, as it is not a too floral scent for women, and it works well for women too. I got my sons to give it a try and both liked the scent and how it lasted. I too thought it was a nice fragrance, one I would happily wear. The 100 ml bottle of edp should last well based on how well the scent lasts when you are wearing it. I like this scent and am glad I got it. I recommend it.

I’m really enjoying Sandal 33! The woody scent is just gorgeous, rich, smooth, and comforting, especially with that creamy sandalwood at the heart. I love how the fragrance balances the warmth of wood with softer floral touches like violet and orris. It feels refined and sophisticated, but in a way that works beautifully for women too, which I wasn't expecting from such a traditionally masculine scent profile. It’s definitely versatile, easily transitioning from day to night. My only real gripe is with the bottle. It’s simple to the point of being a little boring, and doesn’t really match the luxurious nature of the fragrance inside. It’s functional, but it doesn’t feel as elevated as the scent itself. Despite that, the fragrance itself is fantastic, long-lasting, unique, and absolutely lovely. It’s definitely earned a spot in my rotation!

very weak,can barely smell it

It smells good, floral of sorts and a small amount goes a long way. I spray test strips and put them in the car for a pleasant and not overwhelming scent floral and something else

If you enjoy fresh and woody scents, you should pick this perfume up. The presentation is very nice between the packaging and the bottle. It's a sleek and basic bottle but looks great displayed on a shelf. I feel like this is a true unisex scent where it doesn't lean one way more than the other. It would smell great on a woman just as much as a man. You would have to enjoy a strong sandalwood scent because that's what my nose picks up the most. It's a sweet sandalwood that plays well with the other notes. It lingers throughout the day and you can definitely still smell it on your skin long after you've applied it. I feel like this would work year-round but I think it would really stand out during the summer months. This will definitely be an easy reach for me once it's time to hit the beach or pool.
