Great for riding motorcycles as well as working in the shop
I used to be pretty casual about wearing PPE. After a few years of working in noisy environments, I noticed that I sometimes had trouble following conversations. I said "What?" a lot more. I could hear the words but I couldn't always discern them properly. My doctor diagnosed it as high-frequency hearing loss, caused by a combination of age and exposure to loud noises.Fortunately I caught it in time and managed to save most of my hearing. Unfortunately I still did some damage that will never get better. In the interest of keeping what I have left, I now use PPE (safety glasses, dust masks, hearing protection) whenever I'm in a hazardous environment.Riding a motorcycle is no different. At highway speeds, the noise inside my helmet is literally deafening. Between the exhaust and the wind, the couple of times I rode without ear plugs left me slightly deaf for an hour or two after I'd step off the bike. This is the first step in permanently damaging your hearing, and I took immediate steps to correct it.I've bought this type of earplug before. They're inexpensive, reusable, and in most environments I like them better than the typical expanding foam earplugs that you find in most shops. As a result, I keep a few pairs around-- in the shop, in my various tool bags, in the laptop bag that I used to take to customer sites, etc.I was down to my last pair so I bought these. They're the same as the ones that I've bought for years so I know they'll work just fine. I find them comfortable to use. The cord that ties the two plugs together sometimes comes loose from the earplugs, but not often enough to bother me. When it does, a drop of CA glue keeps them permanently bonded in place. My motorcycle helmet has Bluetooth speakers built in, and I can clearly hear music even with these earplugs in. They block out the wind and road noise without attenuating the speakers very much, which is exactly the right balance for me. Another reason to like them.I bought 20 pairs for less than $10, which is nice because I don't have to worry about misplacing or forgetting them. I can keep a pair in my riding jacket, each of my tool bags, my motorcycle saddle bags, etc. I can keep a couple in reserve and always make sure that they're in a handy location. They're washable (I clean them with rubbing alcohol periodically) and when they get worn out or beat up, they go in the trash and I break open a new pair. One thing-- they're not individually wrapped, so make sure you find a dust-tight container to keep them in. You don't want to accidentally push any debris into your ear canal. I keep individual pairs in tiny Ziploc-style bags so they won't get dirty or damaged. There are more expensive earplugs, earmuffs, etc. on the market, and some of them offer more noise reduction or additional features. If you need or want those things, by all means purchase something a little higher up on the food chain. But these are inexpensive enough that you can keep them around in different places, which means that they'll be at hand when you need them. They're also inexpensive enough that you won't be tempted to use them after they've been damaged, dropped on a dirty shop floor, etc. Just grab another pair. You can give them out to coworkers without worrying about getting them back, and if they get lost, you're out less than 50 cents a pair. Decent hearing protection that you actually use is way better than the set of million-dollar earmuffs you always end up forgetting in your toolbox.

Amazing for dulling the noise.
Am I overstimulated by noise? Yes.Is it my children's fault? No.I often wear these to take the edge off of how loud my home is. My kids are not unruly, but they ARE children living their best lives. It's not their fault that mom is on the spectrum and can't handle prolonged loud noises.I've given them to a friend who is on the spectrum and he has since bought a pair. They are not noise cancelling - they just dull the levels a bit. I can still have full conversations while wearing them, and often forget their in my ears.

Overall ok
I use them for sleep. They stick out too far so it can be alittle uncomfortable to sleep on. Also the string detaches pretty easily. Overall they work but I think there are better ones out there with better noise reduction.

What did you say!!!!
Take it from a long time farmer, gardener, shotgun sports shooter, these are worth it when you consider hearing loss from the above activities. I never mow or run other equipment without them. I shoot trap, skeet, and sporting clays with these and ear muffs on top. 77 years old and still able to function without hearing aids.

Best deal for ear plugs
I was surprised at the price for 20 ear plugs.....hard to beat this price for general purpose ear protection. I now have a pair in various locations that I get to easily......have them everywhere I might need them.

It's just ok. Inexpensive.
I use this when I ride my motorcycle. It blocks out most of the wind noise. I would say it works well for the price. I also used this on a 14 hour flight last week and it helped a lot since there was a crying toddler in the next aisle. They should ban toddlers from flights over 5 hours.

It's not so loud!
Using these at the basketball arena where I sit directly under a loudspeaker. They really help.
