Worked for me..
I bought this handle for a homemade camper project. (Still working on it) It is for a pushing gate but I needed it for an opening door. Now the Handle is on the wall next to the door (not on the door lol) but I am happy and made it work. Quality is fairly good for me and the price was perfect. I seen other reviews saying that the thumb part just pulls out and it does. I made a fix for it and give 5 stars for value and price. Nice to have locking dead bolt from inside as well.

Great latch, awful instructions
Looks great, a deadbolt that can also be locked. Easy open and close. Awful directions.I put up a few on the inside of some fence gates with a 2x4 frame. Once you know how it fits together, it takes about 5 minutes. Drill 2 half inch holes, offset by a half inch in the center of the swinging gate from the inside at the high you want the outside thumb. Mount the latch over the hole so that the bottom of the hole is centered on the bottom of the cutout. Put in the 4 screws. I use a sheet rock screw as a pilot. Hold the receiver in place with the latch about 1/2" shy of the latch slot. Mark the top hole, make a pilot hole, then attach the receiver by securing it almost tight through the middle of the oval hole. Tap to adjust, the push the latch in and slide the deadbolt over to insure it lines up. Make a pilot for the lower screw, screw down and tighten the latch. Next slide the thumb lever through the handle and into the hole so the lever comes through the bottom of the hole and the latch is all the way down. Make a pilot hole, and bolt down the upper handle. If you have a 2x4 frame, you'll need another bolt, the hardware has a screw and washer for thin doors. I used on of the black receiver screws, and put another screw in the receiver.

Good Value
This is a very good latch for the cost. It is made well, sturdy, does install left or right and is easy to install. However, the installation instructions are not that helpful.

Had my fence replaced and they used some other latch that I ddn't like
This is real sturdy. You can lock it with a sliding bolt, or after bolting it, attach a lock. Great for when you leave for days..

If you have the patience
While this set up is nice looking and sturdy, the instructions are ridiculously impossible. Analyze what you have, play with it, measure and play some more to ensure you know what goes where. My lag screw wasn't long enough, so I put a bootand but in there also. For the price, its worth it, if you have stone patience and experience couldn't hurt, but if you've never done work like this, don't go this route.Only problem that is not an easy fix is not having a latch pin and not having enough holes to rig something up for the proper width of your door/gate.

Worth the money
Works great, assembly instructions leave a lot to be desired but once you figure it out it's a piece of cake
