Not Your Average Scissors
As background, I do a lot of DIY in my makeshift workshop/garage that involves carpentry and electrical things. Part of my work involves using lots of blades, from X-acto knives, chisels, saws, etc etc. And part of maintaining my equipment means having to sharpen and clean my blades frequently.Despite my background, when I saw $75 scissors that look no different than things I've seen at Michaels, I said to myself I need to get this. I needed to see what made this worth the money. And after getting it and using it for a bit, I felt like O-Ren Ishii (Kill BIll) and when she apologized to Bea for ridiculing her.First, the presentation is impeccable. The scissors come in a bamboo-like (aesthetically) box that opens up and where you can keep the scissors when not in use. The inside have clasps that hold it in place and velvet-like texture to prevent scratching. Amazing. The scissors itself open/close smoothly and quietely. I have a number of Micahel scissors that I don't use as much and even those are not as smooth as this thing. And the sharpness? Oh man, the sharpness. As many other reviewers mentioned, this thing is INSANELY sharp. And as someone who takes pride in sharpening my blades to the point where I sometimes accidentally cut my fingers without noticing or feeling it, these scissors are on a whole other level. This is what Madonna was singing about in "Like a Virgin" because I haven't handled something so sharp in ages.Honestly, $75 for the product makes complete sense. This isn't just a a tool or scissors, this is art and pride in one's product. From presentation, feeling in your hands, and functionality, these scissors are just great. Is it for the average person or everyday use? Probably not. But someone who works with certain tools frequently (carpenters, barbers, tailors, etc.) will appreciate this little guy once they have it in their hands.

Sharp and smooth
First of all, I am not a professional hair stylist. I'm a parent that cuts my child's hair at home. I've used some cheap shears that I purchased for $7 to trim my child's hair and they hurt my hands after a few minutes of use. These scissors' movement is so smooth and so ergonomically friendly on the wrist and thumbs. The scissor is really sharp and takes very little effort to cut hair. I also enjoy the nice packaging it came with. It also came with a wipe. I made an effort to wipe my scissor clean before storing it back into the box to keep the quality of the blade clean for the next use. Highly recommended for at home use. Not sure about the professional setting.

Perfect At Home Do-it-yourself (just don't run with them)
Let me start by saying, I am not a professional and I have no training or expertise in scissors for professional use, this is simply my amateur's at-home use review.I have naturally curly hair and over the years, I've found that it's difficult to find a hair stylist that knows how to handle curly hair so I learned how to do it on my own. That said, I haven't always used a quality tool, and figured it was time to make a small investment. I was actually quite anxious to give them a try!The care in which they were packaged is top notch, VERY NICE! And using them...like a dream compared to the cheap junk I've been using all these years.Because I am not a complete animal, I have a professional hair stylist who colors my hair and has been doing a bang up job of it for 5-6 years now, and who is always awesome at giving me tips for cutting my hair. So I decided to ask her opinion so I could offer a little more...she explained that she uses $1200 scissors with blades constructed in Japan and to wrap it up in layman's terms: those expensive, extreme, high quality tools need to hold an edge and have the right balance to prevent hand cramps and eventually carpal tunnel syndrome so they have to be ergonomic, the movement should be very fluid & balanced and the weight distribution needs to be on point.Basically, if you're cutting your own hair at home, these are ideal. The blade is decent quality and will hold its edge for years to come as long as you keep them clean and use them once a week maximum (I won't even use them but once a month). Overall these are very nice and perfect for home cuts. I can already tell the difference in my hair cuts. And they look so much better than the cheap ones from my husband's beard trimmer kit that were probably doing more harm than good.Bottom Line: These scissors are very nice, a well worth it investment and PERFECT for my intended use.Side Note: I cannot say whether or not they would be ideal in a professional setting to be used for 40 hours a week.

Good entry-level scissors for curring hair
I thought that these were very good quality hair-only scissors. I showed them to my stylist and she said that they were pretty good. I asked her how much she spent on her scissors. When she said $600-$1500 per pair I was schooled. Her comments were kind, for the cost of the scissors. These are the equivalent of an entry level Lexus: nicely made with good materials. She uses scissors that are the equivalent of a Lamborghini.I'm very happy with my Lexus.

Wow. Very precise!
I am so happy with how sharp and accurate these are! For context, I cut family member's hair at home and have NO professional experience so take that into account.I have used them a couple of times now and the finger slots are comfortable - especially compared to cheaper pairs I have! The weight of the scissors is just right, having a bit of heft but not so much it makes your hand tired. They also came with a nice box for storage and a cleaning cloth to help keep them pristine. Really glad I got these and would recommend!
