Came in rusted on the inside and scratched on the outside.

They are deceptively large and hold A LOT of water. I used it for renaissance fairs and always got compliments on it. I don't love that it doesn't have any insulation and the strap has red felt on the inside, making it less period appropriate. However, it's still a great water bottle to use for faire and will help keep you hydrated all day.

Got this for my husband’s renaissance fair outfit and he LOVESSS it. He uses it all the time now. It was an amazing buy. We haven’t had any problems with leaking or the seal on the top. Just recommend using a mild dish soap to wash it, the metal will hold the taste of soap.

Currently, this is the 2nd steel gourd bottle I have. I had to return and replace the first one because of the cap. BEWARE OF THE CAP.The bottle's cap has 3 parts: the steel cap itself, the rubber/silicon gasket inside of it that can easily be removed for washing, and the plastic that gives the cap the spiraling thread that allows you to open and close it like any regular bottle, which is glued to the inside of the steel cap.The problem is this piece of plastic.The first bottle I received was defective and the glue must've not been applied properly cuz the plastic and the steel separated clean off. That alone was no big deal, you can use the bottle just fine with the plastic threaded part, it'll just look not as pretty.To my shock however was the inner part of the steel cap. It looked absolutely filthy, with the inner part looking more of a brass color, almost rusty. The worst part is that the plastic part has a small hole that - if any liquid gets in there - may contaminate your drink it it gets back into the container part.And even if it's not dangerous and it's just a normal darker color due to the unification process with the plastic thread, that hole leaves a gap between the steel cap's face and the plastic. Any leftover liquid/humidity in there WILL cause mold to start forming and that will ABSOLUTELY contaminate and spread to the rest of the bottle. And it's impossible to get all that liquid or other gunk out without ruining the cap because that gap is virtually paper thin(maybe more).This makes it hard to recommend this bottle to someone who doesn't normally put in the extra effort to really make sure their bottles are spotless at every nook and cranny.If you can manage to safely and permanently seal that hole and eliminate the gap to prevent mold, go ahead. If not, look elsewhere

This was bought as a gift. It is huge at 64oz. I’m not sure that my husband will really use this as it will be heavy hauling it around on a camping trip but it certainly is fun. The stainless steel is strong as is the leather straps.

I love this gourd. As an anime fan, I have wanted a gourd bottle for ages. I didn’t want the BPA that comes along with purchasing plastic, so I was thrilled when I found a stainless steel one. It comes with a leather strap for easy carrying. I only use mine for water, so cleaning it is a snap. Beautiful design and fairly inexpensive.
