As we move into our twilight years we’ve been downsizing our holiday celebrations, content to enjoy the efforts and displays of others. The one tradition we like to observe, though, is a nativity set - something classic, minimalistic, and focused on our Savior’s birth.When I saw this available to review I had to order it immediately! Nestled in front of a simple evergreen garland, lit only by the built-in fairy lights, we are beckoned to “come and worship, Christ our Lord and King.”We prefer gadgets that are rechargeable vs. having to throw away single-use batteries but the power source for this lovely nativity was unclear from the listing (they look like button batteries but I don’t know if they’re replaceable).The piece is solid and seems well-made, with no loose pieces - huge advantage over traditional sets where Baby Jesus can go missing! The lights are well placed to highlight the scene without blinding you and it looks nice during the day and even prettier in the dark! I believe it will hold up for many years - although I’m a bit concerned about the power source; I love that it’s self-contained (no electric cord to deal with) but what happens when the batteries die?We really love the rustic aesthetic but I just don’t understand why there are two women (neither has wings to indicate an angelic presence). The bare basic of any nativity set is the core family (Mary, Joseph, and Jesus), often with additional figures including the 3 wise men/kings, angels, and various animals.So, as much as I love this overall, these two things are enough to make me take off 1 star:- Seriously, who is the 2nd woman? I would let it go but this is an integral part of our faith and the details do matter.- Really REALLY wish this was USB rechargeableThank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful!

The size is perfect to display in a small place. Very good quality. Solid heavy weight. Simple beautiful elegance. Tiny yellow warm fairy lights are the perfect lighting. Comes with battery. Possibly button cell. Don't know if replaceable.

I bought it for my mother in-law to decorate her small space at the assisted living facility, she won the prize for that it’s Christmas and the baby Jesus had won the hearts of many.

I was nervous since it was ordered last minute but I’m so glad I did order it. Very well made and perfect for the small tree. I can’t have a tree without a nativity. Not too large.

This shipped promptly and seems like a pretty good quality piece.
