I had a major back shoulder sprain and there was no pain killer that could help. I went to the doctor who sent me to physical therapy. They used a combination of ultrasound, infrared and electro-something or other treatments on me. The infrared felt the best to me and its something I could buy so I got this.Its large enough to cover a good portion of my back and it feels great up to a point. There are only 2 settings, low and high. Low might be too low for me and when I juice it up to high, after a while I feel like my back is almost like well done steak. Don't stay on high for too long it can't be good for you.My sprain never really healed but its not painful just an annoying dull ache maybe a .5 on the pain scale. Whenever it gets to a 2-3 I use this pad and it loosens it up and I'm good for another few months.If you get this understand than this is a stiff pad and will not wrap around body parts. Its meant for your back either while you're sitting or lying down.

I bought this to relieve back spasms/hypertonicity. Used it 1-2x/day for a week and the pain was reduced after each use. It’s not very hot, doesn’t have a lot of adjustability of temp, a bit hard to lay on (I used a thin towel between me and device), but it seems to work well. I bought it because it is Canadian-made and seems well-made so hoping it lasts for a long time.

The description states that the heating elements are not flexible and should never be bent. Even though I read this I wasn't sure what that exactly entailed and based on all of the other heating pads I have used they all have some flexibility to conform to the body. I think there needs to be clearer description that this this product has absolutely no pliability and is essentially a square piece of cardboard that heats up.Also beware that the seller does not allow for returns.

Liked how the heat penetrates deeper than a regular heating pad. The only downside is that the hardboard is better suited for large "flat" areas (back, chest, stomach).

This heating pad is amazing. Well worth the money. It helps your aches and pains without burning your skin highly recommend.

This is not soft at all. Its stiff and hard like wooden board. Heat is good but i just wish it was comfortable to lay on. Not sure why they had to make it so stiff and hard. Returning it.

Our last two Thermotex Infrared heating pads lasted for about 7 YEARS with constant use, on almost every day, several hours a day. My husband and I both had our own. They were bought about the same time and they died about the same time. They were well worn and highly appreciated. So of course I ordered more.I have back issues and my infrared pad comes to the rescue . In fact I use it in my desk chair. The first thing in the morning I turn it up to high. After awhile I turn it down to low and leave it on most of the day. The thing about infra red heat is that it penetrates without being wrapped around you.
