Excellent Detail
My two kids are huge One Piece fans, and so when I saw this, I had to get it. They've read all the manga (in English). I knew this is a sculpture of Luffy, but am told it's "Gear 5 Luffy" - a super-powered version featured in some of the books. He has a "Gum Gum Lightning" skill, and that is what is featured in this sculpt, which features translucent electricity coming from the ground, and a "bolt" that he can grasp in one of two available options for his left arm—the other option being a closed fist (see photos).I own a number of plastic sculptured figures, mostly from some some rather deluxe board games, and I can attest to the excellent quality and level of detail of this one in comparison. There are fine contours and details throughout, and the coloring is flawless (though a lot of this figure is white).I highly recommend this sculpture for any One Piece fan, it's perfect to set on a shelf, or in our case, on top of a dresser, to be enjoyed on its own or part of a collection.

This is a really nice, huge One Piece tribute figure.
This isn't licensed merch, but it's actually really excellent quality. No paint defects at all. It's really, really well done. I've seen some really bad 'tribute' figures, and this is not one of them. It's actually worth the price. Not only is it pretty precisely detailed and looks exactly like Luffy, but it's huge. The addition of all the transparent, colored resin 'action' bits makes it really stand out. I collect, but didn't want this for a collection. I'm making a huge One Piece diorama for my son's One Piece shelf, so I wanted something that I could play around with testing out mounting and adding decoration and lights, etc, without breaking the bank. Now I don't want to do anything with it except display it, but it's going to look great once the art piece is finished. As a standard gift, it would be pretty great. I like licensed figures, but I'm not a snob by any means, mostly because sometimes I'll see a huge statue that I know I can't afford, but there is a tribute option, so I'll give that a shot. Some are hits and some are big misses. This one is a hit. It looks amazing, it's a great size, it's sturdy, and it's just awesome.

Great Luffy Figure
Great Luffy figure. My only gripe is that box it came in was falling apart, but the figure was intact.

One Piece Luffy statue worth adding to your collection
There are dozens of Luffy statues that are on the market, but this stands out as a great looking one. It features Luffy in his white outfit, ready to use leash his powers. He is surrounded by his magic aura and holds a lightning bolt in his left hand. That arm needs to be pushed onto a stubborn and the bolt arranged. The paint job is very clean and there is a lot of detail on the figure that helps it stand out on a shelf. It was packaged pretty well to prevent damage in the plastic clamshell. If you are a fan, I recommend looking at this Luffy. It is a nice size and proves a good value.

Broken figure
The figure is damaged. Half the peg for the arm was stuck and broken off. Infuriating. I'm absolutely beyond myself. This was supposed to be a Valentine's Day gift, and my husband is trying to fix it. Horrible experience.

Detailed, looks cool
I don't have experience with anime figurines, so I'm unsure of how this compares to other models. However, this looks pretty detailed and well-made to me at this price point ($35).Luffy's left forearm comes detached, so you need to place it into the white sleeve. The blue lightning bolt also comes detached. There's also an alternate left hand with a closed fist for use without the lightning bolt I assume. The base doesn't sit fully flat on my figure, but it didn't really bother me.I'd also assume that this is not officially licensed merch.

Details not the same as what I got
Overall yes it is mostly as pictured except in my opinion the most important part of this action figure which is the face. I uploaded 3 pics. One of the figure as advertised on the box and the page and then 2 of what I actually got. If you notice the face is not nearly as detailed as it is to be led on to believe. There is no structure for the lips the only real detail in the face is the nose and eyebrows which I feel makes the figure look very cheap. It literally looks like someone just took a sticker or tattoo and placed it on the face, so now the integrity of how long his face will stay on is in question for me which is very disappointing. I do understand for the price this was a good deal but at the same time if I would've known this I would've spent the extra money somewhere else to get a better made version of this collectable.
