This is variable speed but the lowest setting still seems a bit fast but that’s just my opinion. It works well and is very sturdy

Failed after second time using it
Second time using it and the slot driving the flex cord broke making it unusable. I switched the cutting tool to the main unit and the on/off switch eventually failed making it totally unusable. Warranty is only for 30 days so I'm going to buy a different brand to replace it.
