No Programming Software Locatable
I can't really tell how this radio performs because there is no programming software available, and I'm not about to go through the nightmare of trying to program a DMR radio manually with the keypad. The item description says to go to the company's website and look in the Downloads page, but the only items available for download are their catalog and a few legal disclosures. There is no search bar for finding radio programming software. Using the main search function on the website only turns up the info page for this radio, which also does not contain any software link. It might be possible to get the software by contacting the company's customer service, but I'm not particularly interested in giving my contact information to a company so sketchy they don't even post their programming software publicly, much less installing software from such a company. CHIRP does not even have this brand as an option in their radio list, which eliminates that option, too. So, unless LiSheng updates their website eventually, I'm basically sitting here with an expensive brick.

Okay......it's cool or nerdy.
New user to this hobby. I am finding these radios hard to use due to the fact I am a noob. Seems like a good radio. Will be fun to learn how to use this guy. Cool!

Ok if you are an experienced ham
Radio seems like nice quality. Has the display and cps1.3 firmware that appears to be like a TYT390.Radio comes with a programming cable but no software. Was able to fingerbang program it from keypad after guessing the password “9999999”.This programs just like a TYT DMR HT so if you are familiar with those, and you have the patience, you can get a DMR and Analog ht cheap.Still awaiting to hear back from Lisheng to see if they can send me the programming software. The battery is usb c rechargeable which wasn’t mentioned, very nice. Sound reports come back positive

Seemed like it would be good
This radio seemed like it would be pretty good. It is very heavy feels nice. Looks nice but that’s as far as that goes. I can’t get it to work or do anything. Evidently, I need a program software that I can install, but I can’t figure out how to do that. so it’s basically a paperweight for me. I wish I could get it to work because it seems like it would be very nice if you could it feels very sturdy and heavy duty and well-made. Please fix this software issue.

Programming software not available
Supposedly, this radio has programming software available on the LiSheng website, but like other purchasers, I couldn't find it. This means programing the 3000 memory slots by hand, including all the details necessary for the DMR features. That's a negative, Ghost Rider. I was really excited to start learning how to access DMR radio stuff, but this is NOT the radio to do so, due to it's lack of programming software. This is unfortunate, as the radio itself feels tough and well made.

Very well built, works well
This radio is built like a tank. Feels good in the hand and the screen is very easy to read. It's a bit different than your standard Baofeng you may be used to, but so far I have not had any issues with it.Instruction manual is also very good and is in all English. Any questions I've had have been answered in there.

Didn't work with other similar products.
I got this unit to work as a walkie talkie and to try and sync it up with other similar type handheld ham radios that I have that are from a different manufacturer. I am no expert with these things, but I could not get them to sync together as the operating frequencies did not match. It seems expensive at $99. Unfortunately, because of the problem getting it to work with the others, this one will not be getting used. It does seem like a nice quality unit however, and if I had a bunch of them, as I do the other ones, I'm sure they would all work well. Unfortunately, my disappointment requires a three-star rating.

No programing software ?
It appears to be a decently built handheld with a clean color screen and menu system similar to the TYT DMR radios. The seller's advertisement page reports CPS/programming software is available on their website. I was not able to find it..... I looked at the "download" section....no software there ? also looked at the DM-R89UV page....nope. I don't know if you have ever manually programmed a DMR radio.....no its not a task you want to do !!!! The seller may eventually make the CPS easily available I do not know but as of this writing without the ability to use CPS programming this radio is not very useful to me, but if you want to just manually program one or two channels its doable but Yuk I don't want to do that.
