Meal Preppings best friend
I didn’t think I needed a chicken shredder until I tried this — now I use it all the time. It shreds cooked chicken, pork, or beef in seconds with just a few twists. No more fork struggle, no mess, and way faster. What I really love is how easy it is on my hands. I have mild arthritis, and this tool doesn’t require any real strength — just a simple twist. Super helpful! It’s dishwasher safe, easy to clean, and great for meal prepping. Just note: it works best when the meat is warm and tender. Highly recommend for busy kitchens and anyone looking for a pain-free way to shred meat fast.

Ease of use and clean up!
Works great! Shreads easily as long as your meat is cooked long enough. Quality is really nice and grips well to the counter. Clean up is easy!

I'm quite impressed
I purchased the one that stated it had a deeper container. I needed this for shredding my Schnoodles turkey. She eats homemade dog food. I happen to have some turkey in the freezer so I thawed it out and did a little test run. Perfection. This beats using two dinner forks and shredding the meat. It seems to be of good decent quality. I like the way it grips the counter top while in use. The handles are quite comfortable to use. All in all, 10+. I highly recommend this if you have any needs for shredding. UPDATE: I also have used this when I bake her ground turkey, it comes out in small smash patty type pieces. I just put all of them in the shredder and wow, a few turns and it's now minced meat and ready for her to eat. It's so much better than using my hands and making a mess. I can see how this will be a great addition to my kitchen, making it so much easier to prepare her food. Great purchase at a good price.

Very easy to use!
This chicken shredder works really well! It’s super easy to use and makes shredding quick. The only time it was a little tricky was with a larger chicken breast, but once I broke it into smaller pieces it worked perfectly. Definitely makes meal prep easier!

I LOVE this little contraption!
This little contraption is great! It shreds an impressive amount of cooked chicken and pork within seconds, almost like magic, and it's way better than using a food processor when you want a shredded texture for tacos, stews, casseroles, etc. Clean-up is very quick and easy, even with handwashing. It's very durable and does not slip or scooch around at all. It stays firmly planted and stable on the countertop. I really try to avoid accumulating too many kitchen gadgets, but this tool is definitely worth the money and the small amount of space that it takes up.

Game Changer for Meal Prep!
I never knew I needed a chicken shredder until I got this, now I can’t imagine cooking without it! This little tool has completely streamlined my meal prep. Shredding chicken used to be such a tedious task with forks or my hands, but this gadget shreds perfectly in seconds with barely any effort. The design is simple but smart , just twist, and it does the work for you. It’s also easy to clean (dishwasher-safe, thank goodness) and doesn’t take up much space in the kitchen. I’ve used it on chicken, pork, even beef, and it works great every time.If you do a lot of cooking, especially for things like tacos, pulled chicken sandwiches, or casseroles, this is 100% worth it. Highly recommend!

Can work well but there are things to be aware of.
It does shred chicken. Good start, right? It works best for me if I tear or cut the chicken into smallish pieces that will fit between the spikes in the bottom half, and I also had to learn how much to put in there at a time. Too much and it's difficult to get it all shredded because it sort of clogs. Not saying you can't put quite a bit in there and get it to work, just saying it can be a bit more difficult. Too little chicken and it seems like most of it will just be pushed around and the spikes are ineffective. I think there needs to be enough in there so that there's some friction, etc, making it possible for all the bits to end up in the path of the spikes. It takes just a little experimentation to find the sweet spot...easy to do when you have about 10 lbs of chicken to shred on your first try like I did. I.e., there's a bit of a learning curve.I see some complaints about these things slipping around on whatever surface. Mine has grippy pads on the bottom and stays exactly where I put it. If yours doesn't stay put then maybe you got a defective one?Cons:1 - I bought the 8" version but that's the measurement from the outside of one handle to the outside of the other. The inside of the shredder base is only about 5 1/4" (~13 cm). If you're going to process large amounts like I do, the larger size will be your better choice. Even then, I'm sure, the advertised 10.8" will be much smaller internally (I don't have one so can't measure it for you).2 - The top fits nicely over the base and is very easy to turn. The handles turn easily and the top glides along the outer rim of the base with little friction. I think the main reason the top glides so well is that the rim of the base that the top rests and glides on has a series of bumps or ridges which I'm sure are there to reduce contact and therefore reduce friction. Unfortunately, after processing ~10 lbs of chicken in one go, those bumps on mine are significantly worn. When I noticed this, I looked closely at the counter I'd been working on and found black plastic dust. Did I end up with any of that in my chicken? The wear is external to where the chicken is shredded but you have to turn the thing upside down to dump out the chicken once it's shredded, so I assume some of it got in there. Also, even assuming the chicken remains plastic free, will the shredder continue to work well if it continues to wear? Again, I don't know. And maybe I'm just pushing down too hard while I turn it?3 - The depth of the base is about 2" (~5 cm) and the spikes are about 1 3/4" (~45 mm?) long. Because the gaps between the spikes are, of necessity, narrow, it's very difficult to thoroughly clean by hand. Good luck finding a brush with 2" bristles. And the spikes are all 4-sided, with 4 lengthwise grooves along each. As with most things, especially those made of plastic, the biggest issue for me is grease. After I scrubbed and rinsed, I could still see grease and had to rewash twice before I was satisfied...and I couldn't even see whether those grooves on the spikes were clean. For both of these reasons, I only recommend you buy one of these if you can put it in a dishwasher.
