Rating greatly improved after Android Security Patch for June 2022 delivered
Aug 2022 Edit: Finally the phone was patched to June 2022 Android patch level! And just like that back to 5 stars because it is lasting forever despite 20+ drops.Edit after a year: They have not updated the phone once. There is no OTA update, so until this is supported my LineagOS it is insecure and contains major security flaws. I love the hardware but the software support is just bad. No security updates in the entire life of a product seems to be the norm for this company-so I will be getting a Cat phone later when I upgrade.(Edit after a week)I will start this review by saying I know this is a small business and a new product-there are going to be hiccups. Like the wireless charging and lack of updates. They need to work withb Google to get these updated. But I can overlook growing pains to get true innovation when the flagship phones are all chasing megapixles so we can see zits and sweat even better. Adding Flir got my attention and the endoscope plus a coulometer (not sure what it is for yet-I'll figure it out) is a real touch of innovation. This phone is so much more than just a phone. I considered the Cat phone with Flir-but the endoscope is brilliant. It works- and is something no other phone has. I am willing to support businesses that supply me with cutting edge technology-not just better cameras of the same type. Ulefone has my vote this year.A side note. I like the Samsung phones-but a friend just dropped one of the S21's in my kitchen while making a drink and just like that 1.2k was gone. If I lost $1,200.00 one week after spending it I would be sad.Just to reiterate-this is not a beauty pageant phone and makes no pretenses-it is a rugged phone with good technology, a good CPU/GPU combo (enable the AI prediction), and enough ram to be relevant for several more years. What more can you ask? And it cost less than the brittle phones that shatter on the first drop despite being far better built. Now if they can just give us security updates soon! The lack of Android security patches gives me pause-but I am running Malwarebytes. I still expect security patches.Edit: the battery is excellent so far and the few minor issues are well worth it. It has lasted a week-and I got it before a hard freeze and this came in handy. I bought new windows for the home after seeing the cold air flowing in. I considered taking off a star for lack of updates-but I will give them a chance.

Decent rugged phone
I've had this phone for about 3 weeks and for the most part it works as intended. I have noticed a few bad/odd things:1. App Provided Sounds. Any app that you download that says "app provided sound" for the ringtone cannot be changed. I use the Yahoo Mail app and a few other apps (Outlook mail, Google Calendar) that have this trouble. If you use the gmail app (yuck!) you can configure the sound no problem, but the others cause an error. The manufacturer was very responsive and said they were going to fix this in the next update.2. Oddity with phone calls. I have found that if I make an outgoing call everything works fine, but if I answer a call sometimes it randomly mutes the caller so I can hear them but they cant hear me. I have also had several calls that instantly dropped when I answer incoming calls. When I call them back it works fine.3. No Manual. Like others have said, the manual that comes with this thing basically tells you how to turn it on. It is very unhelpful for most things. I'm pretty familiar with how a phone is supposed to work so I was able to wiggle my way though without help.4. Picture Settings. When taking photos, the settings for different things is hidden in an odd menu and reverts back to default every time you open the photo app again. Not a huge deal for me, but thought it was worth mentioning.5. Fingerprint sensor. The physical location of the fingerprint sensor is a place I hold the phone most of the time. Frequently, I touch the thing so many times it says "too many attempts" even though I'm just holding the phone naturally. The good:1. Sound quality. Phone calls and audio playback both sound great2. Internet connectivity. This thing really seems to amplify weak 4g signals. We just barely have signal at our house but this phone still seems to be able to function without issue.3. Battery Life. I use my phone frequently with my job and still only need to recharge the battery every 2-3 days.4. Endoscope. This feature is not something I really needed, but it came with the phone. I attached it once and it functions as expected. It comes with an itty-bitty screwdriver to take out one of the extremely small screws in the side of the phone that you then use the screw hole to attach the endoscope to the phone. I find this attachment a little cumbersome, but as it's something I don't plan to use much if at all, I don't care much.5. Thermal Imaging. This function is one of the main reasons I bought this phone. I have used this feature several times with my job and it certainly helps me find hot spots that need to be addressed. Very happy with the Flir.6. Ruggedness/size. The size of the phone was what I expected it to be and the phone comes in a case that seems to be pretty tough. I'm pretty rough on a phone so this was a huge selling point for me. It came with a replacement screen protector of the tempered glass variety and one was pre-installed on the phone. All in all I'm fairly happy with it and if they fix the sounds issue in an update (that they tell me is forthcoming within a month) I'll be happier still.
