Works well for moving logs without damage to ground/roads
We put the log dolly just to the rear of the balance point or at the far end from the pulling tractor, tie the tongue firmly to the log, then lift the front end while moving the log. Prevents "drag" damage to soil and roads.

No customer support from manufacturer. Poor quality wheels
I would not recommend this product. Both wheel bearings collapsed completely after about 10 log hauls. The manufacturer refuses to send replacement parts. Been getting strung along by these jokers for 5 months! Junk Chinese wheels!

Order extra wheels.
Structurally five stars. The weak spot is the wheel bearings. It lasted longer than expected per other reviews. Both wheel bearings collapsed on log 14. Used as rear tires on 12 foot fir logs with a log arch. Order extra wheels.

Moderate Strength
What did I like? The paint and finish was good and it appears to be a good design. As long as I keep the logs relatively small there should be no problem. The rating comes from the fact that it's rugged but not super strong. But, for the cost it's ok. The other factor was that it arrived poorly wrapped and stuck in a box with no cushioning at all and of course this thing is heavy enough to eat right through the cardboard box before it arrived. Thus, anything small and loose in the box, like nuts and washers, would just fall out of the box. Yes, it arrived without the nuts and washers for assembly. Surprisingly the bolts made it even though they were loose in the box, but it was just a matter of time before they also fell out of the box. I did find the small plastic bag that the nuts and washers were supposed to be in.

Does the job, pretty tough. No problem with the tires.
I used a woodchuck timber jack more or less in the center of the log to elevate one side of the log about 8 inches off the ground. This allowed me to slide in the skate to more or less the middle. Then I was able to lift the front of the log easily and tie the front of the log to the tow hitch. This thing works fine.

Parts missing, frustrating communication, looks well made.
I ordered one of these and after some shipping delays, which is not the fault of this product and not reflected in the review it arrived. Upon opening the box all the hardware and chains to put it together were missing. Notified the seller, who told me to call them (it wasn't the seller's number, it was the manufacturers but they didn't disclose that info). The seller offered no other support. After a few days of back and forth with the manufacturer they told me I had to wait 6-8 weeks for parts. So if you want to use this right away, don't get your hopes up.Looks well built for the price, looking forward to using it... someday, probably next year at this point.Edit: 8 months, still nothing. They just don't care.Edit2: 16 months, no response. BUYER BEWARE.

Works well!
Needed to for hauling logs on a mountain property, they can be rather large and dragging them by hand was a back killer. Reasonably simple when cut into 6-8 foot sections. The clamping mechanism on the chain is 'OK' it works, but sometimes can be finicky. I have a length of rope that I look around and use it to drag the log while on the skate. I works well, would definitely repeat the purchase.

Moved20’ power poles over rocks, no flats!
Great product added a hitch to it to move power poles into a remote area to build a bridge. Foam filled tires prevented flats. Due to rock hits did strip at one wheel bearing but had extras. Overall great product will be using for a long time with our snowmobile club.
