This thing is insanely loud, like too loud for most day to day situations IMO. Its loud enough to service a small party/wedding/kids disco etc, which I suppose is legitimate use case, but unless you have no neighbours or desire to hold a conversation its a bit much really, especially considering the sound performance mentioned next.Extremely bass heavy, even without bass boost, lends it self to more dance/hip hop/edm music. Mid range is lacking significantly and gets overridden by the bass, vocals are lost and other mid range instruments like guitars/violin/piano get lost if there's bass in the song. I could not rectify this with tuning the EQ on my phone either.At low volume the first few steps are pretty much unusable, then when it starts being at a reasonable listening volume each step up is too much to find a nice balance for actual listening, the jumps are just too big from one step to the next.Build quality is good, its very heavy but in a reassuring way. The battery lasts a good long time (got a weeks worth of evenings in the garden) at a lower volume anyway. The LEDs are a nice touch but aren't very bright so its probably not worth having them on in daylight.All in all if you want something for booming bass and lots of volume its great. If you want something more balanced and suitable for a range of music there are cheaper better options in my opinion.

The media could not be loaded. This is a really good quality speaker. It seems really well made and, although portable, it has a nice weight to it so while it's not the lightest for carrying around, it does feel durable and robust.It's really straightforward to use, just pair to your device of choice via Bluetooth and start playing music, podcasts, etc. The sound quality is good and not tinny. It has a bass boost which adds a little extra bass should you wish. The volume range is great so you can use it in the home or in outdoor areas, whether small or large. Just be considerate of others and don't go blasting your tunes in shared areas but it would be good for parties, events in community halls or venues if they don't have sound equipment.The handle has a moulded shape for comfort when carrying but the speaker is fairly weighty so you wouldn't want to be carrying it for miles, even with the shoulder strap which is included.The lights option is a fun addition and the lights at each end can be switched off completely, can be static or can flash to the rhythm of the sound coming through the speaker, using the button on top of the boombox.It says it's waterproof and the bit on the back for inserting cables or cards has a rubber cover but I'd say it's safer to consider it as being shower proof.Really pleased with the quality, sound and ease of use.

This speaker makes me want to paraphrase a line from a movie... "that's not a speaker... THIS is a speaker!!!"As someone who is old enough to judge stereos by the size of their speakers, I am very impressed that such good things come is such a small package. I LOVE IT. I love that it has 60W of sound which is very loud indeed (especially when you look at the specs on others and it is 5w...12w...) 60W! And I love it that when you turn it on the bass is pretty heavy to in the mix. I had an afternoon where I played Chase and Status's Badderdan about 10 times in a row because the Bass was so good. After a decade of tinny music from my laptop it has had a sort of spiritual effect on me, making me love music even more.This is also a proper stereo speaker because it has two 30w outputs. It is shaped like an 80s boombox, albeit smaller, which makes me happy.Great technical spec and so easy to use. Five stars all the way.

The thing I love most about this is the 80s boom box look and feel to it. The styling has more than a touch of retro cool to it, from the chunky handle to the neon-style lights. It even comes with a carry strap so you can carry it around, street-style!It's not just good looks, though, as it's seriously powerful. You can tell it'll have a big sound from the solid weight to it - not over-heavy, but reassuringly hefty - and big sound it definitely has. The top volume is extremely loud - so much so that you'll rarely use it unless it's for outdoor event music. About mid-way up the volume is more than enough for an indoor max.There's a bass boost, which works a treat. In practice, I've just left that switched on all the time, as it really fills out the sound for pop / rock, but it's a simple button click to toggle it on and off. Likewise, the light show is easy to toggle on and off, and I've also tended to leave that on - it adds a real touch of fun to the unit.Setup was really easy straight out of the box. A long press on the on/off switch, and it was automatically in Bluetooth pairing mode. My iPhone found it straight away, and it was ready to go. Note that there's also a TF card slot in the concealed back panel (which also hides the charging socket), as well as 3.5mm jack access to hook the speaker up to an external source, making it potentially useful as a portable amp for some electronic instruments.USB-C charging is super handy as you can recharge it using a standard laptop charger. It came with about 3/4 charge already so could be tested straight away, and a full recharge lasts for hours of mid-volume play. That makes it ideal as a super tidy, compact and cable-free home speaker too, as it'll only need a charge once a week or so for occasional play. The charge works both ways, with the unit doubling as a power bank - extra useful if you're taking it on an outdoor trip.For a mid-range boom box style speaker setup, I'm impressed at both the build quality and the sound. For portability and performance, I'm giving this a hearty thumbs up.
