Very Useful, Easy to Use.
With a change in my regular IBS condition, it was prudent to check for Occult Blood in the stool. Collecting a sample is the disagreeable part of the process, but the test itself is simple, but put your reading glasses on for the tiny instructions. The sampling wand is moved around in the stool to collect a coating, then screwed back into the container, which is thoroughly shaken to mix with the solution. Remove the other cap, break off the tip and squeeze three drops into the sample hole at S, and start the 5-minute timer. Both my tests, on different days, were Negative, which is one obvious red line at the 'C' mark, blank at the 'T' mark. Not all bowel issues needing attention produce blood in the stool, so although a Negative test is reassuring, don't take that as an All Clear if you have any bowel symptoms.

A little fiddly to use
Seems ok, but a bit fiddly to use as the amount of drops specified tend to overflow even if spaced out

Please use these ... they can be oversensitive, but lifesaving.
We buy these in pairs every year. Sensitive means it picks "something" up and "specific" means maybe not the bad thing. If you come away negative, all good. If you get a positive result, then your medical practitioner can schedule a lab test to show that further testing is needed.Three of us got the ones sent out by the NHS (UK Based). One got a positive and two didn't. This would be the lab based test that decides what happens next. The positive one led to scope being inserted and they found a small cancer and some polyps and sorted it all with surgery. The two that came out negative, went on to do the home tests, ie these ones sold on Amazon. One scored a negative both lab and home times. One scored a positive on the home test and then was sent for a lab test that proved to be negative. You will take the next step if the alert on the home test is over-sensitive, but at least you get that next step?

Better instructions needed
Good value for money and fingers crossed it’s accurate! Poor instructions needs to be shown with diagrams as per Covid test I think…

Recommend them.
I use it after I had some bleeding. Didn’t wanted to go to GP as my sister who is a nurse recommended me there test. I have done them and the result was negative! They are affordable and definitely worth the money

What a brand name...
This is a review for the AssuTest bowel health test kit (pack of two tests).NB: I am not able to comment on the accuracy of this test, only on its ease of use and acceptability. If you have bowel symptoms that you are concerned about, please consult a doctor rather than relying on a test like this which is designed for asymptomatic screening. You receive two separate tests and there is a very reasonable use before date of more than two years (provided the tests are stored between 2 - 30 degrees C).The instructions aren't great. There aren't clear diagrams and there are two separate ends to the sample kit that need unscrewing at different points. These are different colours, but the instructions don't tell you to initially unscrew the blue end to take the sample, and then the white end to deposit the sample into the test cassette. It feels like the test was designed by someone with some common sense but then the instructions were written by someone else. However, once you do work out what you are supposed to do, the test is fairly easy to complete. You aren't provided with anything to catch your sample, so you will need to provide that yourself, or be a deft hand at snagging some with a wodge of toilet paper. Once you've caught some stool, you poke the sampling tool into in in three different places. The sampling tool has a screw like end, and this captures the actual sample. I would suggest you keep poking until the screw grooves are full. Even then, it looks like the sample is going to be far too small, but once added to the test liquid, this tiny amount was enough to change the colour of the liquid so I guess you snag more than you think! After combining the sample with the test liquid (by screwing the blue end back in place and shaking), you unscrew the white end, snap off the exposed tip and then drip three drops into the well of the test cassette. You wait at least 5 minutes (but less than ten) and then you can read the test. The instructions do come with some helpful information about when the test should not be used, e.g. within three days of menstruation.

Easy to use
This test is easy enough to do. It's obviously not the most pleasant to do, but the instructions are pretty clear. If you follow them correctly, it gives you a reading. And the results give you peice of mind or some useful information if you suspect Occult Blood. There are two tests included, so you can either confirm the results with two separate readings, or see if the readings are any different a period of time apart.Once you've inserted the rod into 3 locations of your stool, and placed it in the container (sealed), shaken it to mix, you simply add the required drops to the reader. The line starts lower down then migrates up the read strip.I'd recommend for anyone wishing to test for occult blood.

Quick but instructions could be improved
The test is relatively quick to administer but the instructions could be improved. They are a block of text without any pictures which means that you need to figure out as you go. Ideally the instructions would have big large drawings that guide you through.
