Q: Does this item come with a steel spike?

According to the item description, it does not. The description states as of 08/03/21: “ NOTE : Plastic socket included with this dryer for installation in concrete. Ground spike can be purchased separately when installing in soil.”. So in essence you get the plastic spike but not the steel one which will have to be purchased separately.

Q: How secure is it in the ground? I live in a windy area will this just blow away?

Make sure you put plenty of concrete around the tube in the ground and it should be ok. I would say at least 350mm x 350mm x 400mm deep The whole thing does spin round with the wind

Q: The bottom split pole has bent, can I just get a bottom pole anywhere?

I am sure you can - maybe start by asking Vileda

Q: Is the pole hollow to fit over spike instead of hollow ground spike

Pole fits imside a tube which is set in the ground, in concrete preferably There is no point on the pole
