Yamaha hit the sweet spot with this model
Well made, lighter in weight, no batteries needed, very comfortable, an evenly weighted sound, good compromise between costlier models (2x or 3x or more in price) and overall usability.

Much better than they first appear
Despite the good reviews I was a bit disappointed when I first got this. Yes it was very light weight but is also appear red flimsy and made out of cheap materials. The lead is as thin as some wired earbuds and being 2m long has a higher chance of being caught or snagged. Whether it would survive, I don't know? I would also have preferred a straight through jack rather than a 90 degree one but that could be personal preference. In use it is a different story. I have found them supremely comfortable and light weight. They cover the ear well and the clamping force is perfect for my medium sized head, never inducing discomfort or sweaty ears. The sound is also very good. I have had a few headphones from various brands but my current preferred ones are the Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro X. IMO opinion the Yamaha have about 85/90% of the sound quality, just sounding a little flatter with a little less detail but at less than half the price. If you do a back to back comparison you can tell the difference otherwise as a stand alone sound they are really pleasant and well balanced. However, I did buy the Yamaha for bass guitar practice and in this respect they are excellent for both sound and prolonged comfort. If you are going to treat them carefully then they are recommended.

Ideal for a digital piano
I bought these headphones to go with a Yamaha digital piano (CLP 735). The open back design improves the natural frequency response of headphones, as well as making wearing them more comfortable. The piano sparkles with these headphones. The sound leakage is not very loud for other people in the room. The open back design also means that someone else in the room can speak to you (and it makes it harder for them to creep up behind you!)Note: The open back design is ideal for practicing with a digital instrument. It is not suited for recording purposes if using a microphone, since some sound leaks out and could cause feedback or add noise to the recording.

Fantastic headphones for piano practice - true sound, light and comfortable
I have a Yamaha N3X and an N1 - these headphones sound great - the sound is true, and not bass boosted. They are very light and disappear almost as soon as you start practice, and are comfortable enough for a couple of hours use.I also like the open-back - you can hear sounds in the room - keyboard noises, and anyone sneaking up behind you.

Very light and comfortable
Bought to spare my partner from being subjected to my piano training. They are very light and comfortable so just what I wanted. Sound is also very good so should do the trick nicely.
