It works

This rig allows you to operate and charge your laptop or similar device through the USB-C port rather than using the AC power adapter that came with the device. So if the AC adapter charging port gets damaged, or you lose or damage you OEM charging adapter (cord and transformer), you can still operate and charge you device using this rig and the device's USB-C port (assuming it has one). A "wall wart" transformer will slowly charge a laptop or tablet through the USB-C port, but takes all night and once you turn the device on, the wall wart charger doesn't supply enough power to operate and charge at the same time and the device will run down to empty in a matter of hours. I've been using this for months now and it works great. Does not get hot. Charges my laptop from empty to full charge in a couple hours even while using, and keeps battery topped up as long as you leave it plugged in. Feels and looks like a quality item. All for less than twenty bucks. Can't go wrong.

This gets EXTREMELY hot when using it. I would not recommend using it at all let alone leaving it in supervised. It’s hot enough to potentially harm you and will 100% cause a fire if left on a couch or something. Do not buy this.

Unlike a phone or tablet, a full sized laptop requires more amps to charge its battery.So your average small adapter cannot provide enough power over USB C, but this charging brick is perfect, with enough amperage for a quick charge

I could have SWORN I put the original power bring in my bag, but of course its not there when i need this. This one is a great replacement, and works as expected.
