I bought this to handle my incremental backups of the PC. It has performed excellently so far. It will burst transfer rates over 100MByte/sec and is flawlessly simulating a disk drive. Even after 20 minutes of solid I/O activities no heat problem has been seen.I am thoroughly pleased with it and recommend it to anyone looking for a portable SSD of this size.

I bought this drive as a redundant backup of my system and extraneous files, and to replace 500gb WD SSD which is about 10 years old and filled to capacity. This new drive is much smaller than the one it's replacing measuring 3" x 2.25". I've had it about 6 mos with no problems. We'll see how how it holds up in the future.

This "Transcend TS4TESD380C 4TB USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 USB Type-C ESD380C" SSD drive is SO FAST I CAN BACK UP A TERABYTE AN HOUR. This is MORE THAN TEN TIMES FASTER than what I used to do with my old USB3.1 external hard drive. It WAS taking me twelve (12) hours to do an image backup so I would have to start the backup then come back the next day. Now I am done in the time it takes for my lunch break.This Four (4) Terabyte Solid-State Drive (SSD) has NO MOVING PARTS and is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and although it comes complete with a full set of USB cables, I opted to buy a 90-degree, six-inch, USB C Right Angle Cable, so the drive fits neatly on my desk.Manufacturer support is unbeatable with Transcend SSD utilities and documentation downloadable anytime from the Transcend website. The exclusive “Transcend SCOPE Utility”, which I downloaded and installed under Windows 11, lets me see drive health and available firmware updates when they are published. The separate “ESD Firmware Update Tool” let me update to the latest firmware so I can take advantage of new features and greater security.This Solid-State Drive comes with the Transcend FIVE YEAR WARRANTY. Storing my important files and making image backups is easy and no matter what happens; ransomware, stolen computer, the dog ate my homework, I am covered with a backup that is fast, convenient, and small enough to fit in a fire-safe. I have been using Transcend products since 2007 and I have never been disappointed by them.

I am holding off on my opinion a bit because i have only used two of these to transfer video files.There were issues with another brand so it was suggested to use these,I bought two 1T drives and 12T drive.The first drive experienced a slowdown during the transfer of a large file, so it worried me a bit.The second drive gave me no issues.At first blush, the specs. And robust build makes this seem perfect for my application.I will revisit this review after a few more experiences.

Disclaimer:I got it for $209, so my 5+ stars rating is considering this price, not the price I see right now which is $334 or even $350+.I only have a 1 Gbyte/s USB port and this disk provides read speeds of 1 Gbyte/s for large files, always.As the disk fills up, the write speed drops to ~700+ Mb/s, which is still great for $209 that I paid, but not sure if it's that great for $330+. Normally, the more expensive drives have TLC NAND memory, SLC & DRAM caches. This one does use TLC memory and has (p?)SLC & DRAM cache, that's why it can sustain good write speeds of 700+ Mb/s even as it fills up. However, in the price range of $300 other drives may also have all these caches and provide high speeds.TL;DR: I'm absolutely happy I got it for $209. Not sure if I was equally happy if I paid the full current price of $330-350+ as the competitors in this price range can also provide very high speeds.

This took only minutes instead of hours to copy all images from my cellphone and I bought one for everyone in my house.I stopped paying for large capacity cloud services each month for each phone.
