Amazing
The best purchase of 2024.I put them in the neck of the baby bodysuits and they now last longer. (I buy those that are bigger size!). I also put them in the tote bag so now it can close.Diligence and attention are required to put them in but it is very doable and the instructions are clear. The quality could have been better but it’s ok. The studs are slightly sicker than I would prefer. When I put both sockets in with this tool, I close them and hammer with a toy hammer to ensure they are pressed well enough.Overall it is a fantastic tool for this price (£9) and I'm still amazed that I can install these buttons all by myself!!!

Works well on smaller items.
It works well but the studs were smaller than I expected. (Probably my fault for not reading the specifications carefully enough).

Not worth the money
After putting just 8 studs onto a cotton quilt cover, the pliers lost their clamping ability, along with the plastic collars to hold the two elements, rendering the tool a bit useless. I fail to see how the flimsy construction of the hand tool is supposed to be able to fulfill the 200 poppers. Now I have a quilt with only 1/2 the poppers needed. I wish I had bought the sew on type now. Useless product

Very good until the locking arm failed
Worked well on a couple of duvet covers (<20 poppers), then the arm that locks the crimpers failed to work. The crimpers still work perfectly but if it's very difficult to put them back in their storage box and it's prone to spring open. The arm lock now slides under the side of the crimper that it should butt up against, meaning that the crimpers will spring open. Looks like the pin that holds the two parts of the crimper is a bit too long. The pin is machine-pressed at one end (rather than using a bolt). I assume that the pressed end got bent during use, making the pin slightly longer and causing the arm-lock to not line up. Probably could be temporarily fixed by hammering or vice-clamping the pin; but probably would reoccur.Unlike electrical crimping, you don't get a satisfying C R U N C H! when the poppers are fixed, so perhaps I was applying too much force. However, when I crimped more gently the poppers wouldn't fix. This is surprising because the crimpers seem strong and well made. The printed instructions were difficult to read, but the video covers all I needed. To get the spiky fitting and the male/female fitting in the correct sides of the crimpers you need to look carefully at each die (different sized holes). It's pretty subtle. Would be better if the rubber fittings were, say, one black, the other white.

Tool application doesn’t work
This product is a bit naff! It’s so hard to get the top and the bottom lined up and then they get stuck on the application tool, the little pin provided snapped as it’s made of cheap metal … I would not recommend this

Saves time
I am very pleased with this kit. I find it very tedious sewing poppers on. It does a great job. The only slight downside is that one of the plastic covers on the pliers comes off every time you use it. You have to put it back on each time. I’m sure a spot of super glue will sort it
