Give throttle to fly higher, go lower on throttle to fly lower. To turn left or right it uses the left or right motor to turn, hence the "differential thrust". This is a great little flyer for large indoor gymnasiums, or for days with winds that are little to nonexistence.There is no real afterburner, or even a jet engine. There are two motors and two propellers, one in each wing towards the end. In flight you can't see the propellers and it flies just fine for a small area. Wouldn't do a backyard, as you do need some space.About 6 minutes of flight time per battery and it does fly well thanks to the gyro stabilization. To test the stabilization I just gave it a little throttle while holding it and then pointed it left or right and the thrust goes up depending on the angle.About 15 minutes to charge.It does have three levels of flight mode, but I left it in the beginner flight mode to help stabilize it in flight (I like to sport fly and have fun, not stress). At such a diminutive size it is not worth going into the other modes, even if it is made from tough foam.Requires 4 AA batteries only for the controller, plane has its own two batteries.Comes well packed with instructions, two batteries for the plane, a controller, and usb charger cable (no usb charger included), and the plane.I've been flying for quite sometimes, from RC planes, to drones, all pro / hobby grade and some not. We've come along way and for a first time plane this isn't bad. For a second or third not bad either. Heck, I fly with folks who prefer the cheap flyers and buy these planes over hobby grade stuff all day. It's all about having fun. Batteries can easily be charged in the field thanks to the included USB charger, just take a USB battery (not included).Makes a great gift for anyone remotely interested in flying.

This is a simple controlled aircraft.Not terribly difficult to fly but definitely not a plane for more experience fliers. It is however fun to fly, though I enjoy flying most aircraft. The look of the aircraft is good. It was easy to tell which direction it was goin during flight.Only thing it is missing is a camera for first person flying.. that actually would make the experience better.

I was very happy with it for the 3 flights I got before one of the motors stopped working, now I have a $50 glider ( that doesn’t glide well at all ).

I have a pretty good selection of R/C vehicles from buggies to stadium trucks to single and twin engine planes. I have a micro plane, a few park flyers and several larger format planes as well. I got my start in park flyers as they are fun to just throw in the trunk and hit a large park or even on my property if it is not too windy. I am by NO means a super skilled or professional RC pilot, just a hobby loving guy.Pros: Ready to fly, includes everything needed besides 4 AA batteries for the controller. Durable. LED lights help with orientation and the thruster LEDs look cool when flying. Easy pairing.Cons: 2 channel. I was assuming that would mean thrust and one control surface. This is setup with a small motor in each wing and all direction is based on differential thrust. There is ZERO fine control on this unit. More throttle makes it go up, less makes it go down. Left or right input just changes the speed of one motor. I was unable to get any sort of level flight and there is zero turn authority as there are no control surfaces.Overall: This might be a fun toy for a few days for a young kid, I can assure you they will quickly loose interest as it is super basic. This is not any sort of trainer as going to anything with actual control surfaces is a completely different ball game. For anyone that is interested in the hobby, they would be better off buying a used RTF or even a Parkzone Ember2 for a few buck more. I might mod this to have control surfaces with some micro servos and use my Spektrum radio and a micro receiver on it just for fun.

picked this up for my son who has shown so interest in RC models and thought this would be an introduction to flying.Comes ready right away don't have to go out and pick up anything extra.Looks really nice and is easy to fly. Goes up down left and right. Not able to do any stunts or sharp turns. It's a really basic 2 channel plane with little flying flare.If you are wanting something pretty cool and flies but doesn't break the bank this is a good choice for you

I've never had an RC plane and have always wanted one. I saw this and decided to give it a shot. Once it arrived, I unpacked it and my first impression was...not good. It's made of styrofoam and only had one battery...or so I thought. The other battery was disconnected, but in the plane, so there were two as advertised. Also, turns out that being made of styrofoam was a good thing as it made it more resilient and lighter than if it was plastic or metal.I charged the batteries and connected one to the plane. I popped in the wheels (super easy to do). Then, I added batteries to the remote. It came to life!I went outside and put it in the middle of our cul-de-sac and floored it on the remote control. It ramped up speed for about 10 feet, then took off. The controls worked GREAT! It was a windy day, so it was a bit hard to control, but overall, it was a fun experience. I'm going to try it again at a park when the wind dies down so there will be more open space.Overall, I'm super happy with this plane and so happy I decided to get it. Controlling it was easy, but took a little bit of expertise and practice, so it may not be a good fit for small kids. Teenagers and above should be just fine, though.If you're on the fence about getting this plane, DO IT! It's well made, better than expected and an overall good value.
