Really good alternative to the official controllers, now my go to controller!
I was dubious at first, but I plumped for this controller over another "Elite" Microsoft controller as I've had two of them so far and the right shoulder button has "gone" on both of them! I decided if I was going to spend in the region of £120 on a premium controller I'd try something different.Been going a few months on this now, mostly playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is intensive on that top right shoulder button since it's the main attack one! Still going strong and cracking heads with it.The controller sits nicely in the hands, the buttons are slightly out from the standard controller but you get used to it very quickly. It's very responsive and it looks good too, what with all the LED lighting and so on.About the lighting, it may contribute to the battery consumption quite considerably. I've not run out yet, but after maybe 6 hours of gaming I have noticed when I put it back on charge it is around the 30% mark. This might be a consideration for people out there who have a worse gaming habit than me! You can turn the lights off and so on, so you can probably extend the battery life to a certain degree if you play with the settings.I've ostensibly used this on my X Box, but I did plug it into my laptop and it performed equally well on there; plus you have the application to download where you can program the additional buttons, set profiles and the like.I have had occasions where it took a couple of minutes for a connection between the controller and the BluTooth stick that comes with it. I don't know though, that may have been me, so I'm not going to dock points for it.Overall, a very nice peripheral and one that I am glad I took a chance on. Mostly because 6 months on I'm not looking to replace it because it's faulty, like the similarly priced Microsoft ones!

Bit underwhelming
Updated. Ended up returning the controller as It persistently disconnected while playing and needed a full reset before you could reconnect. Really frustrating experience. Battery life was also terrible and could run out in a single gaming session. Assuming it would stay connected long enough that is. Going to go back to my £40 basic controller that gives me no issues and the battery lasts for days.Avoid-----Have to admit I have been looking at this xbox controller for sometime. When it came up £40 off and on a 5 month payment plan I jumped at it.Having received it, it is a bit meh to be honest. My biggest gripe is the software. The iOS app is totally pointless in terms of functionality. All you can do is adjust the brightness, thats pretty much it.The xbox app is over complicated and doesn't seem to sync any settings down to the controller. For instance, I changed the color in the Xbox app, but the controller refuses to change. Only way I have managed to change the color is directly via the controller menu. Not the end of the world but for £140 you'd expect things to work. Never seemed to get any social media messages to the screen which made that feature pretty useless too.Compared to my £40 basic xbox controller it feels lighter. Not sure if that is a good thing yet, but the build quality does feel cheaper.

Better than Elite V2 Xbox controller
Excellent controller, loving the mouse click buttons, feels nice to hold, not too heavy, battery life could be better but that’s just due to the LED lights which can be turned off with ease, fully customisable, Hall effect joysticks, all round pretty decent controller

4 star
Replacing an Xbox elite core 2 wireless controller that had failed bumpers and a slight stick drift, I was looking for Hall effect wireless replacement (ideally stick and bumpers). This has Hall effect sticks and classic bumpers with a rock solid wireless connection, which at the moment means 2/3 ain’t bad until Microsoft get round to an Elite 3 (rumoured with TMR tech more advanced than Hall effect). The stealth ultra looks the part, whilst quite light in the hands. Build quality is solid and the on board screen is sharp and easy to set parameters (much more so than the Xbox / mobile app).Firmware update done by Xbox app so much more convenient than the Stealth Pro headphones which require a PC which I don’t have!?The controller is snappy and responsive with quick reflex buttons, although you are trading some comfort for the ‘competition’ features. Triggers can be set, dead zones applied etc. this is for people who know what that means, otherwise don’t bother!4 stars due to excellent connectivity, ease of charging on the USB hub, RGB is pointless but looks great, onboard sharp screen and snappy performance.Could benefit from additional thumb sticks (these are thinner / smaller than Xbox pads) and after a short time can be painful, I’m hoping to get some callous protection and for some reason the Xbox button isn’t backlit meaning took me ages to figure out if it was turned on.Decent kit to ride over waiting for the elite 3 core (this has back buttons if that’s your thing - I’m too old to learn new tricks.
