One is a few seconds under, one is a few seconds over. Perfect for tea, maybe not for anything important

The media could not be loaded. I've always liked the hourglass.The sand falling through that little gap in the glass is just mesmerizing.I'm not using this for preparing tea or boiling eggs, although I might need more for those things as well, but I am using it for teeth brushing time.The recommended time spent brushing our teeth is about three minutes, and without anything to measure the time it's pretty hard to estimate when the three minutes are over and I usually end up using the timer on my phone or simply going back and forth to look at the clock.This hourglass is very useful in this respect as it is quite accurate and I now have something right next to me which tells me when the three minutes approximately are up and furthermore if I want to add another minute or two to my brushing, that can also be accounted for.The metal frame makes it very stable and doesn't move around on shiny surfaces as it has anti slip grips on both ends.Functional and beautiful at the same time.

Purchased as a gift for someone. On arrival opened to check it, and decided to check that the sand timers were functioning and accurate. Unfortunately the 1 minute, 3 minute and 5 minute were all inaccurate! As such it was not fit for purpose and had was returned.Not recommended.

Very well made timer, and I like that there are etchings on both ends so you can use it both ways up. The timers are pretty accurate and the sand colours lovely. The only issue is the corners of the top and bottom plates have not been rounded at all and are very sharp - not one for the kids to play with!
